I really appreciated the help that A. Place for Mom gave the family. At times I was overwhelmed with the number of calls that I received. I also had a difficult time understanding how the different parts of APM were connected. I made repeat calls not knowing that I had already called a certain department. It would be helpful to know how APM was connected so families weren’t overwhelmed.

I inquired about placement months before my father-in-law felt he was ready. This led to a barrage of phone calls for months on end from different facilities. A few months and a couple of hospital stays later, the phone calls had stopped and we had to find an assisted living facility for him as a condition of release from the hospital (he lives alone, and we live 2 hours away). I saw a call from A Place For Mom come in, and I answered. I expressed my annoyance at the amount of calls, I received but said we did now need help. Tamara (Gulf Shores, AL) offered to mediate between facilities to avoid the nonstop calls, and I said yes. We started this process on Friday, and I had a cell number where I could contact her "anytime". My father in-law was released over the weekend, and apparently, "anytime" means M-F. Messages and calls did not go through. We wound up coordinating everything ourselves which wound up being fine since he knew exactly where he wanted to go.
Tamara was compassionate and professional. I see the value of this service for sure. It would be helpful if there was an automated message for people trying to reach reps outside of work hours, instead of crickets.
5 stars for Tamara, but not sure how to rate the company for this oversight.
