"Ireland self-drive trip"

We had a wonderful self-drive trip in Ireland. We had great weather - even the locals commented on the warm, sunny days - and enjoyed the countryside and the people we met along the way. Our accommodation was excellent and we even got accustomed to driving on the left side of the road! At Scotts Hotel in Killarney we had a room overlooking a patio pub that was noisy and they were very accommodating in changing our room for the next 2 nights. I especially want to thank you (Maria Lieb) and The Park House Hotel in Galway for going to the trouble of tracking us down when our camera was left in the room. Although we had extra driving that day, we were glad to get back the camera with our photographic memories.

We planned a 21 day self drive trip to Ireland in 2020, but had to be cancelled because of covid. We decided to take it this September and were delighted to find that Maria was still working there. She was so responsive to all our questions and gave us good advice as to changes in our itinerary, cutting down on time spent in the car getting from place to place. The car was waiting for us at Dublin Airport, and each place we stayed, both hotels and B&B's, were top notch, at great locations and all had full Irish breakfasts that made it possible to skip lunch. "We booked a drive yourself tour"

We booked a drive yourself tour which included B&B and car rental. The B&B's were top rate. Very comfortable with friendly hosts, delicious and varied breakfasts. They were all within a 30 minute walk of the downtown areas where there were many shops and restaurants. We received an upgrade on our car at Hertz's rental. The company was very helpful reviewing the driving since we were from Canada where we drive on the right side of the road and the mechanics of the car is designed opposite. The suggestions for things to do each day was extensive with choices for rain or shine. When we were booking the tour Stephanie was very prompt answering any questions we had and helping us plan a memorable trip. We had a great time and would recommend your company to anyone traveling to Ireland whether it's the first time or a return trip

We were very impressed with the trouble free travel between airport and hotels , all of which were superb , in idyllic surroundings. Our main interest was traditional music and all the locations had this in abundance.

Maria Lieb at Discovering Ireland was so helpful. We originally booked our trip in 2020. We had to cancel because of the pandemic. We stayed in touch over the next 3 years and she was always there to answer questions.
When we finally made it to Ireland, the tour was absolutely amazing. Discovering Ireland booked our vehicle and all of the overnight stays for 10 nights. All of the B&Bs and hotels we stayed in were top of the line. Breakfast was included in all of the stays and it was wonderful. The Wild Atlantic Way was a tour that let us see so much of Ireland. I thought the cost of the trip was very reasonable for what we received.
We had a wonderful time and the people were all friendly and happy.
I had a problem with my flight being canceled (not booked through the tour company). I contacted Maria and she was able to extend my stay and car for an extra night and day, so I was not stranded in a foreign country.
I will recommend Discovering Ireland to anyone who wants to travel to Ireland.

Stephanie at Irish Tourism was so easy to work with. It was so nice to be able to make payments for the trip instead of having to pay for everything all at once. Every time I had questions, Stephanie got back to me right away, even with the time difference.

Our agent Stephanie organized a wonderful trip for us. She was available throughout the planning process as we had any questions and was quick to answer. It was so nice to just tell them the length we wanted to stay, what we hoped to see/do, and what accommodations we wanted, and allow Stephanie to make all the arrangements. In short order, we had a packet including all hotel/B&B reservations, the car reservation, driving directions, suggested sightseeing stops, walking tours, and more. The tailor-made guidebook was very helpful as we planned each day's itinerary in detail, using the suggestions and directions. Upon our arrival, every reservation went smoothly, from the rental car to each hotel/B&B. I did not do the math to see what the trip would have cost had I done all the work myself, and I don't care to, because we were quite happy to leave the planning and booking to Stephanie and her team, and we were totally pleased with the vacation they planned for us. They earned every penny! We recommend this agency 100%.

"We spent 11 days driving the west coast of Ireland"

We spent 11 days driving the west coast of Ireland, following an agenda and lodging arrangements put together by Maria Lieb with Discovering Ireland. We appreciated the experience and time that was evident in the agenda that Maria prepared for us. It made our visit effective and fulfilling. Maria prepared a document for us that explained each of the sites we could visit and provided historical and cultural background. We enjoyed reading the information, almost as much as visiting the site! However, the background information did make the visit more meaningful.

Bed and breakfast lodging was arranged for us by Maria. All of the proprietors running the lodging were courteous, helpful, and friendly. We gained a lot of tips from them, as well. All lodging was exemplary and I would certainly lodge with them, again.

We had desired, and arranged, to travel to new locations every one or two days. In hindsight, I probably would have spent up to 4 days in each of Dingle and Donegal, as there was so much to see in those areas, and we would have liked to have immersed ourselves more in each of those experiences.

For transportation, Maria had arranged a small car. I'd wondered about that, initially. However, in the end, as a driver from the United States not used to smaller roads, I greatly appreciated having a small car for the narrow roads of western Ireland. It was just what we needed, and again, Maria's experience came through for us!

In summary, we saw a lot of beautiful things, met some very good people, got a taste of the challenges the Irish had in prior years, and found our visit most fulfilling, thanks to Discovering Ireland. It was everything we would have expected.
