"Good facilities "

Facilities are good, in Leeds is a new building. I’ve got small group and teachers are helpful and professional. My experience is quite positive.

"Great Professors!"

I started the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in London Bloomsbury in September 2024. The professors have been super friendly and you can really tell that they want you to succeed. You're put into smaller classes where you can ask questions and get individual help from the professors. I have found that the other students are also really friendly and classes are enjoyable.

I would say that it can be difficult to get feedback on work; especially for written letters and essay work and the course is fast-paced so you need to ensure that you are keeping on top of your work and properly understand the topics. Additionally, as it is a London-based campus and has no on-site accommodation, there aren't many societies or that student community feeling, which is a shame.

I am having a great time though. The course is challenging but it is very enjoyable overall.

"Good teaching overall"

Some of our instructors are great. There is some inconsistency in the quality of teaching, but I believe ULaw are working on this. The online 'elite' system is very good - much better than at my undergrad uni. The system for swapping sessions is overly bureaucratic and could very easily be streamlined. This is probably quite a fair comment on all of ULaw's systems - they are not bad but could be simpler and more efficient.

"Sqe prep course and masters"

I am doing the sqe prep course and masters qualification through ulaw this year. So far I have found the experience to be good. The availability and quality of resources are great and the teaching is also to a high standard.

"University of law always helpful. "

I started to study at ULAW when I did my undergraduate degree from 2021 till 2024 and since then the university of law has been so helpful and when I was applying to carry on studying law I applied to to do the LPC full time. The courses I did were at the same university but at a different campus and thought my years at university of law the university had already been soo helpful and accepting students that are neurodivergent and made sure that they are always taken care of. 😁 the tutors always made sure that students learnt in the best way possible.

"Enjoying it"

I have enjoyed my experience so far and have found the staff friendly, the teaching well-organised, and have been exposed to a lot of CV-building opportunities.

"ULaw is beyond supportive "

My experience at ULaw has been amazing. I started my masters in Reading in 2023, and I had to defer due to personal reasons. My lecturers were all supportive and would help me at a moments notice. I was able to come back to the course in 2024 and it was completely stress-free. The campus manager gave me a call to explain the process and the student information team immediately answered every question I had about returning.

The lecturers are really engaging and are always happy to help outside of class either in person or over email, if you have any questions. They really care about the students and it shows.

The careers team are all lovely. I’ve had calls with four or five different careers advisers during my time here and all of them have been extremely knowledgeable. In fact, the applications I have been advised on were the ones that got me to assessment centres.

Also, I have to mention the university’s disability team who have been really helpful in catering to my reasonable adjustments.

If anyone is looking to do a legal masters, I highly recommend doing it at ULaw!!

"Teaching could have some improvements"

Teaching could have some improvements, as well as lectures as I find myself confused after them sometimes. The rest is amazing, I love being a part of this community and cannot wait for the next few years.

"A balanced review!"

Studying the LLB at ULaw, I can confidently say that the university is excellent for its academics. The modules are comprehensive, the tutors are supportive and passionate, and the extra support is there should we need it from StudySkills, the Library, etc.

In other areas, ULaw admittedly is a mixed bag at the time of review. Student Information’s help is dependent on campus, and while the Wellbeing Team are amazing the same cannot ALWAYS be said for Academic Coaches, for example. I myself have felt adequately supported, but I know of others who cannot say the same.

As for the more social side of ULaw, there is a lot to be desired given the university’s size compared to others. The budget isn’t there to properly support clubs/societies like at larger institutions, and until recently there was zero support otherwise for such student groups. Students generally aren’t equipped to maintain societies, unless specific Deans/SU staff/Teaching staff choose to support them. Events-wise, Student Information tries its best to run social events depending on the campus. As for student-led events, these are extremely difficult depending on campus and support given.

Ultimately I always speak highly of ULaw given that its flaws are known and being worked on. They also give the opportunity for students to step up and speak for changes; in some ways I’d hate a “perfect” university! I chose ULaw for its excellent record for strong academics, and I have never once regretted my decision.
