"Worst decision I ever made"

If you wish to get good value for money, or actually accomplish something in life, do yourself a favour and avoid this university.

Care and support in existence, they just want your money.

"I WOULD DO IT AGAIN & THAT IS A POWERFUL STATEMENT"

I completed a MA Law and did the SQE1 preparation course. I was successful in the SQE, which is largely in part to the material I learned in the masters programme and the Synap app with about 3,500 sample SBAQs. The app feedback aids in the retention and learning. Tutors are knowledgeable, engaged, and provide a wealth of experience and texture to the nuances of law. I built relationships with the tutors by being engaged and plenty of effort to learn. Just under 10,000 test questions practiced in Synap. My point is to impeach some negative reviews. A better university than the where I earned my MBA and another one from my BSc. Anecdotal, but was told after the SQEs by others that they wished they had attended ULaw; they were from a well-known institution. Not the best in the finance department, but once addressed it had the attention to correct. Yes, I would attend again and if they offer a PhD in Law in the future, I likely will. Studying Law is difficult, the SQEs are difficult, having the drive to succeed is personal and I chose to invest in myself not other areas that will not yield a profession.

"SQE1 at Ulaw. "

I recently completed the SQE1 course at the University of Law, and it was a decent experience overall. Not only did I pass SQE1 on my first attempt, but I also scored in 1st quintile.

One of the standout resources provided by Ulaw was their revision app, which proved to be incredibly helpful in my preparation for the exam. Additionally, I found the manuals to be very useful as they cover almost everything.

I chose to study in person at the Reading campus, and I enjoyed the experience. The tutors at Ulaw were knowledgeable, supportive, and instrumental in guiding me through the course material.

I would definitely recommend the SQE1 course.

"PgDL with SQE1 prep "

Recently completed the MA Law (SQE) course (PgDL with SQE prep course). I found the teaching very engaging and resources provided everything I need to pass both courses well. This was particularly noticed during the SQE prep course where the textbooks broke down topics well and the revision multiple choice question platform particularly useful.

The SQE exam itself was perhaps harder than the prep course prepped me for. Nevertheless, considering the exam is still new the materials provided and teaching for the exam I would say was sufficient to help students pass.

I also utilised the employment team whilst studying who were so beneficial in helping me obtain a training contract. Booking appointments to review my application and later for advice before assessment centres proved crucial for helping me get my TC and I am so thankful for the employability team.

There is an expectation that students will do a lot of work which is to be expected. I didn’t mind but did find it challenging to juggle part-time work and found perhaps the university could have been more supportive. However, it is a postgraduate I studied so that is perhaps more of a reflection of the level of study as opposed to the university.

My course was in-person which suits my learning style so much more. I have had friends that did it online and perhaps struggled more as the university was perhaps not always the best contacting them and providing teaching online. I know the few workshops I had online because of train strikes were not as comprehensive as my in-person ones.

Despite the faults I am so happy I chose to do my law conversion and SQE prep at U Law as opposed to other providers!

"AVOID AT ALL COSTS"

Please do not enrol to university of law for SQE. It is completely useless. The teachers don’t know what they are doing and the teaching is pathetic. They are simply recycling and rebranding old materials that are not suitable for the course. Teachers turn up to class and said I’ve never reached that area of law not that course.

They don’t even mark your work! The feedback we got for mocks was generic feedback so there’s absolutely no use to attend the sessions. The revision sessions consist of them telling us what the exam is going to be, which everyone knows about it already.

Some classes were devoted purely to how to use punctuations such as comma and full stop. Absolutely pathetic

For people with adjustments, the uni does not respond to any requests. Telephones email none of those work.

The teaching is absolutely terrible, support is absolutely terrible. They should not be allowed to charge such extortionate fees and steal the credit from students for their own promotion.

I WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULD.

"Everything I needed to pass"

I really enjoyed my experience with ULaw (online campus). The course was well organised, my personal tutor was always happy to be contacted if needed and I was taught/given the information I needed to pass SQE 1 (I didn’t use any other resources). The question bank was particularly helpful. Opportunities for personal feedback are fewer with an online course and it’s probably best to consider that when making your choice of course.

"U Law SQE 1 course"

U Law SQE 1 course - i found the method of teaching U Law uses really key to me passing the SQE. Everyone learns in their own unique way but I found the exercises and in class session as well as the U Law textbooks key to my success. I picked the in person class as I absorb more through discussion with others.
A few of the tutors running the in person sessions were a bit weak in some particular topic areas they were giving workshops on which is why 4 stars and not 5. But over all, knowledgeable and engaging tutors.
In terms of the buildings, Bloomsbury isn’t the most modern of university campus’s, the Moorgate campus is much nicer in my view. Overall the environment is okay for studying in, library silent and quiet areas are quiet for the most part.
I’m happy with my choice and I hope that I go on to pass SQE 2 with U Law.

"On my second course"

I have completed one postgraduate course at ULaw and currently on my second. I passed SQE1 first time scoring in the highest quintile having followed their course. Their revision app was very helpful. I am currently studying for SQE2 and whilst I think I have the opportunity to pass, I do not think the quality of the course is as good as SQE1. Students have no personalised feedback at all for any work/mocks completed (you are only provided with suggested answers). I find it really tricky to know how well I am actually doing.

"Applicants with mitigating circumstances "

The applicants with mitigating circumstances are treated terribly! I was asked to provide detailed statement about my parent's illness and subsequent passing during my undergrad degree. The admissions team wasn't bother to look into my documents and was chasing for a detailed statement, way over the line. No compassion or even simple common sense I ended up refusing to provide further info and asked to withdraw the app. From what I can see here, not a bad decision...
