"Never again"
Why you never buy from solidor. I bought the door mainly for the 10 year guarantee. I first had a problem after 2-3 years where the door would not close properly, I contacted Solidor and they said they would arrange for the company that fitted the product to come and fix it, DID NOT HAPPEN. Recently the colour has completely faded on the panels, they agreed wholeheartedly that there was a problem and that they would replace the cassettes, I enquired about them fitting the cassettes as what I would expect from a guarantee. They again stated that this would be done by the company that fitted the door, then they informed me that the company no longer trades and they cannot fit the cassettes, so I am left with a door that doesn't close properly three window cassettes, no new glass and no one to fit it, they have not even offered to get another company to fit and cover the cost, and fulfil the guarantee. The customer service rep has not been helpful at all

"Faultless product and service"
Faultless product and service. I purchased a Solidor via a local firm, it is clearly a very well designed and manufactured product, and when I've had reason to deal with them and their partners (Ultion locks and Kubu smart sensors) they've all been absolutely spot on. Can't fault the experience at all!

I telephoned Solidor direct on a Monday and explained that I had scratched my peacock blue door and by Wednesday I had received some touch up paint. Excellent customer service.

"Door fails within 6 mths - worthless guarantee"
We had a solidor door fitted July 2020. When we got the door we noticed that the inside skin was coming away slightly at the top of the door. We contacted our installers who said it would probably be within “tolerance” and tried to glue it back on - that failed. At the beginning of January 2021 we noticed that the slam lock system was not working properly - it was catching as the door shut meaning that you really had to slam the door to shut it making it feel like the whole house shakes when you shut the door.
We contacted the installer who made some adjustments which lasted for less than a month. The installer then said that they would replace the locking system. They were supposed to come over a month ago but told us that they have been waiting on the part now and that it still has not come in. Really a locking system taking this long to be ordered?? We reported this issue in January having had the door less than 6 months. It is now April and still no further forward.
We asked our installer if they could get Solidor to come out and look at the door but they told us that due to COVID Solidor are not doing home visits. We called up Solidor directly who told us that they are in fact doing home visits but we need to get the installer to request it as we are not their customer. This is a terrible service where, as other posts have suggested, Solidor and the installer just push responsibility back to each other making their guarantee worthless. Paying over £2k for a door and in less than 6 months it goes wrong and we can’t get it fixed or replaced. Stay away from Solidor.
***UPDATE**** they replied to this review to say that they will look into the issue but I have not heard from them. I assume they just want to look like they care when someone leaves a bad review.

"I bought my Solidor door 3- years ago…"
I bought my Solidor door 3- years ago and have been delighted with the quality of the door. Recently I noticed that one of the small end caps at the foot of the door was missing. I contacted Solidor by e-Mail and they responded almost immediately. They asked for a photo to ensure that they knew what I was referring too. The have organised a replacement, now that’s is quality after sales service to match the quality of Solidor’s products. If you are looking for a quality good looking door, look no further.

"Solidor door. I recently had a problem with one of…"
I recently had a problem with one of the window panes misting on my Solidor entrance door. The local company who supplied and fitted the door had gone out of business, so I contacted Solidor direct.
They were very understanding and quickly arranged a replacement pane.
Great service 👍

"Like John's review I have the same 3…"
Like John's review I experienced the same issues and would say its worth avoiding Solidor! as there are a load of good quality products on the market. I also bought 2 Composite Doors from Solidor, Dual Front door configuration, which failed after 1 year of use.
I was also fairly happy with them for the first year and a half. Then I noticed that the outer skin on BOTH Doors had Cracked and these were then replaced by my Window supplier (which took 6 months of chasing). Now I have an issue with the replacement, where the skin is splitting near the edge on one of the doors which appeared shortly after the replacement doors were fitted. The replacement happened back in Feb 2020 and still to this date I'm getting nowhere with the replacement or Solidor even coming out to see my issue. I've been chasing via my Window supplier for 8 months and have contacted Solidor directly and they just blame each other. If you are paying £3000 for doors you do not expect to be having these issues.
I also agree, If you are considering buying a Composite Door from Solidor please read the reviews carefully on those Reviewers that have had their Doors more than 1+ years, as the Doors tend to fail with time. The sad point here is I was told of splitting issue by other brands which I ignored as I thought Solidor are a big company with adverts on TV, and they would look after me if something went wrong (I was so wrong!!). They have no direct support and you have to go through your supplier to get anything done, which they even struggle with when trying to claim on your behalf. Very poor after care support which is a shame as the doors look really good if they lasted. I'm just really glad the TV ads have now stopped as it ruins your day when you see them!!

"Please read these reviews before purchase"
I have read all these reviews on Solidor and cannot believe there still able to get away with giving a 10 year Guarantee and get away with saying they give it to the fitter and not the house holder who has had the doors fitted. It is Obvious they have a problem with there doors as like others we had two doors fitted which were far from cheap one being a stable door and a front door in 2013. We were unable to shut our front door at all one day and unknown to as when the door was taken off it was found that the door had allowed water into the inner door which caused the wood to swell and fall out. I was given a Solidor Effiency Certificate with the job ref no as Jones my surname and Certificate date which I have kept thinking this was what I would need, how wrong I was telephoned Solidor who said I had to go through the fitter. Tried for 3 weeks to get hold of fitter left messages etc the window firm being systems 2000 still he had not come back to me. Rang Solidor back they confirmed he was still trading and they would contact him a week later still no contact.
Knowing systems 2000 was still trading I got my daughter to ring and ask for a quote for windows as it was always an answer phone.
Response from systems2000 asking her to text her number so he could ring her, what a shock he had when he did as it was not my daughter who answered but me, anyway won’t go into this as if this is not sorted I am Determined to carry on and seek legal advice if I do not get this sorted.
Systems 2000 asked me to send photos and paper work I had so he could send to Solidor which I did, Solidor came back and said they cannot look it up as our name is Jones and asked him to send the paper work he should have kept. He is now saying he brought his partner out and he must have the paperwork I contacted partner at the time he said when he sold the firm all paperwork was given to systems2000 I contacted him again he said he would look through his paperwork I have heard nothing tried Solidor said they would contact him.
At no time was I informed that the Guarantee was for the fitter only, and why would I look at the web site as I was not ordering the doors. When I was given a quote for my doors and windows I was shown the doors and windows I could choose from as far as I’m concerned Solidor is wrong in there practice of giving the Guarantee to the fitter and feel it is a way out for them to get away with selling there faulty goods cannot believe there able to continue to do this. Anyone thinking of buying these doors I would not if you think you have any come back when something goes wrong, as you have not, as much as I’m Angry with the fitter the fitting of the doors was ok it was the product that was at fault.
