"When will composite doors be designed and manufactured in the UK to prevent warping"
Sounds like the majority of composite doors (solid core or not) manufactured in the U.K. fail due to warpage.
When are the manufactures in the U.K. ever going to make a product that is fit for purpose in this instance?
I guess its due to a lack of knowledge (design, product testing & manufacturing) in the material construction & expansion coefficients, plus allowable tolerances for the construct of the door slab within the frame.
If adequate R&D testing were to be performed taking the above into account we may then be able to purchase doors that are fit for purpose and wouldn't warp due to exposure to the sun.
Its very sad that we no longer have these expertise in the U.K anymore, so when considering to purchase a door think twice if you door is facing East, South East or South West as there is a high chance that it will warp.

"Engineer Kevin fitted new front door…"
Engineer Kevin fitted new front door today his knowledge of the product was excellent and his customer care and attention to detail was second to none, he arrived on time and was very polite answering all of my questions.
This is what comes from having fitters that work directly for the company and not contractors.

"Replacement door seal"
Our back door was made by Solidor and we have been delighted with it. Unfortunately, we have a large cat who long ago realised that he would be let in if he could attract our attention. This he has consistently done by clawing the weather seal around the door frame to make it "twang". After years of such abuse, it has finally succumbed and is no longer a seal.
The original supplier is no longer trading and so I decided to contact Customer Services to see if they could help. I was connected to Caitlin who, on hearing my predicament, went the extra mile to resolve the issue. A replacement seal will be here in three days. Truly outstanding customer service.

"Great company to fit new door under warranty "
Today we had our composite front door changed under warranty; it was fitted in 2019. Since then, the door never fitted properly, and the hardware became pitted and had to be changed. You always had to push the door until it clicked to lock it. The key also took a long time to get into the lock. Today Paul came to change it and told us it was hung incorrectly, resulting in those defects. Also, you could push the bottom corner of the door in, which should not have been possible. The letterbox, knocker, and handle pitted again, and the composite was peeling. Paul was a lovely guy who changed the door and put a fire safety switch lock on the inside so you don't have to use your keys in case of a fire. This should be standard in every home—what a good touch! He also put brand new hardware on, and it's better than what we had. It's darker in color and brushed; it feels lovely when you touch it. We are so pleased with Paul's craftsmanship and his work. The granddaughter initially gave him 6/10 but then gave him 10/10 as he cleaned up after himself as well. We are so pleased with the work. Thank you, Solidor and Paul.

"Very poor customer service."
We had a Solidor composite door fitted 3 1/2 years ago. The door has bowed significantly and recently caused the lock to fail. The lock company were excellent, they responded positively from the start and supplied a new lock within days. I just contacted Solider, about getting the door replaced before the lock fails again, and their response couldn’t have been more different. They couldn’t deny it was a manufacturing fault but tried to suggest we didn’t have a warranty because it was supplied to our installer through a third party supplier. Unfortunately, our installer has ceased trading so I cannot verify with them. It seems that the horror stories from other contributors about this company are wholly justified. They manufactured the door so they should take responsibility for their product.

"Excellent aftercare service"
I have Solidor front and back doors, and on the two occasions that I have had to contact Solidor, I have had excellent aftercare service, from both Leanne more recently but also Grace in the past, with a quick response, sympathetic understanding and prompt action on both occasions. Thank you so much. Recommended.
