We have had two problems with our Solidor door.
The beading on the outside of the door going yellow and the lock breaking down.
We have received very good after sales help from Solidor.
The beading was replaced by Solidor within a couple of weeks under warranty.
A temporary repair was made to the door lock by Solidor on the same day as our initial phone call to Solidor and a few weeks later a new lock, which had to be ordered, was put on the door by Solidor under warranty. Both times customer services were very helpful and the engineer who called at our house to do the work was very helpful.
I would use Solidor again.

"Poor quality door - short warranty for accessories."

The door needed to be replaced after 3 years as the composite ‘wrap’ had cracked in a number of places - not what I expect for nearly £3,000. Additionally the letterbox, supplied with the door is corroded at the top, but apparently is only guaranteed for a year and I would need to buy another one to replace it! I wouldn’t buy a Solidor again. My previous door (not Solidor) lasted over 20 years.
Update: I am now in touch with Solidor offline to resolve the outstanding door furniture issue.
Further update: Solidor have now said my warranty is with the installer not them! As the installer says the door furniture warranty is only for 12 months, my 2 star review still stands. It would have been one star, but at least the door was replaced.

"Glass panels - extremely disappointed"

Door installed today - the panels of glass do not match the images generated through Solidor’s ‘design your dream door’ online feature. I chose the ‘trio blue squares’ design which in the image online quite clearly features two-toned diamonds, an inner dark blue diamond and an outer turquoise diamond. On the actual door, there is no turquoise - the outer diamonds are plain, non-coloured glass. I specifically chose this design for the multi-coloured stained glass so I am very disappointed by this false advertising.

Additionally, there is a large black piece of dirt between the panes of glass which is extremely visible from the front. It just feels sloppy, and certainly not what I expect with a product I’m paying £1000 for.

I ordered my door through a local supplier, so I understand I need to go through them to try to get these failures rectified, but I just wanted to flag these issues for other customers. Make sure you see real life photos of the door you are choosing and don’t trust the online image generator.

UPDATE - the lock has now broken after less than a fortnight and we’ve had to have it removed in order to gain access to the house. So thanks to shoddy quality from Solidor, my home currently cannot be secured!

Plus, our excellent local installer who are taking this up on our behalf have told us that Solidor’s responses have been insufficient and very unhelpful.

Great service provided by Solidor. We purchased two doors in the last month. The quality of the doors are outstanding and the finish is great, we are so happy with them. G. Morris was great to liaise with ensuring all the cosmetic needs were met and made several changes for us with no questions asked. It really does make all the difference when you get great customer service. Would highly recommend for the quality and service.

"Replacement door"

Replacement door - unfortunately my beautiful Solidor had a problem after seven years, my original installers did not respond to any of my communications so I went direct to Solidor. After numerous emails and conversations they agreed to help, thanks goes to Declan Wootton who was determined to get me a good outcome - my replacement door was fitted by Solidor yesterday as a gesture of goodwill, as the original installer would not help me. Thank you Declan :)

My interaction with Jess Beardmore was outstanding. She was particularly helpful, ran through the options that were available to our client and was extremely helpful with her guidance and reassurance.
Jess gets 10/10 as far as i`m concerned.

We've had our door for 5 years now, absolutely beautiful. I contacted them with a query regarding hinge caps (not important, purely cosmetic) and they couldn't be helpful enough. Caitlin is the epitome of what customer service should be. Cannot recommend both the company and their products highly enough.

"SO painful to deal with..."

I found dealing with Solidor directly, and via my fitter to be shockingly awful. Special shout-out goes to Deborah for her wonderful one sentence email replies. If there was a “Computer Says No” award, she would win it hands down. I never did work out if she just never grasped what we were asking, or whether she was just trying to make us go away… Personally I’d avoid this company like the plague!!!

Disappointing that door has failed, with multiple cracks and the inside has started bowing. It also leaks. However, the customer services team at Solidor stepped in to help and a new door is apparently being sent out to replace the faulty one.
