"I need some help and advice"

I need some help and advice, had a beautiful Solidor front door fitted March 2020. Since then the builder has disappeared, rather leaving me in the lurch on other jobs that he needed to finish.However, the door has issues, inner skin coming off at the bottom and nuts falling out of hinges. Have spoken to Solidor, but they keep going around houses, eight weeks on and I am still no further forward, even thou the door has a 10 year guarantee. Any advice?

We had a Solidor new front door installed by Amberwood not quite a year ago -really please with both product and installation. The other day i noticed a tiny bit of trim had gone missing off the rain drip bar. I used Solidor’s Contact Us bit of their website to ask if i could buy a replacement. Got a reply in a couple of hours and a replacement bit FOC via DPD two days later - that is brilliant customer service👍👍

"Poor product"

The review by Simon on 1st March accurately describes our experience with Solidor. Our installer got the warranty from an intermediary company who have gone out of business. For this reason Solidor are refusing to accept responsibility for our door with multiple cracks by the mouldings and which swells when it rains, sometimes floods the front hall and intermittently refuses to lock or unlock. Solidor originally offered to replace the door slab at cost, which we decided to accept.
Our installer has been out and measured the door slab and provided the details they requested in an email, which we have forwarded to Solidor. However the hoop they are making us jump through is to insist that the installer sends them the details directly. The installer refuses to contact Solidor direct. They both know that if they continue with this stance there is nothing we can do. This is a Solidor door that has failed well within the 10 year warranty.

"Excellent Post Sale Service"

We have a Solidor door, which was damaged (long after installation), I approached Solidor regarding "touch up" paint. The staff were extremely helpful and provided the paint (the next day) which is an exact match. This follow up service was faultless

"Not recomnended"

We had these doors fitted to our front and side doors. They were not cheap. The front door drives us mad. During the summer it cracks loudly every time the sun comes out which can be hundreds of times a day. I would definitely not recommended these doors.

I wish No stars was an option.... We installed a door for a client last year, the customer contacted us as they were having issues with it, upon inspection 9 WEEKS AGO we discovered their issues were the fact the door is BOWED like a banana! This was logged immediately with the trade village who passed it to Solidor, we supplied evidence to show the problem. 3 weeks ago, we were told a site visit would need to take place and our customer has still not been contacted to book the visit, naturally our customer is frustrated, cant use their front door and expect us to resolve it. We're trying everything we can, almost daily messages via The Trade Village yet the site visit still hasnt been organised.. lets not forget this customer has a BOWED FRONT DOOR, the issue hasn't just gone away. Even Rockdoor knew their slabs bowed so did something about it! Its a shame you're making it so difficult to resolve this problem for our customer. You seem very quick to reply to issues on TrustPilot but its a shame you dont do the same on other methods of contact.

Update- 8th April, Solidor asked for more info as you can see on this review, that involves giving a reference number and my phone number - I assume to be contacted. What a surprise that since then there’s been no contact at all, not even an attempt. Looks like you reply to negative reviews to look like you’re doing something but in reality you’re not.

I had my doors and windows fitted in 2019, and had I fitted by professionals. Within a year I've had issues with the doors, small cracks and lines started appearing. Called the supplier in Dec 2020 and they logged the complaint with solidors, solidors emailed back saying they will replace them and the new doors are in productions. Today we are in end of march 2021 and still NO sign of my doors. Seriously I will never use solidor again. After care service is terrible. My supplier has been contacting them repeatedly but its just been falling on deaf ears.

"Replacement door seal"

I have two Solidor doors which I am very happy with, attractive looking doors and very secure. I had a problem with the seals around the doors due to my cat scratching at them to come in and Solidor have been more than helpful and sent me replacements free of charge.

"Prompt Service"

Have a door that’s a few years old and whilst all fine in that respect I noticed the surrounding frame weather strip starting to crack and disintegrate in places so I made a general enquiry via the website for advice and supplying agent/s within my area. I received an answer back within 24 hours, sent the requested photos showing areas of concern and within days I received a replacement strip FOC . This was an easy diy fit, but most of all doing that got me out of drying up the Sunday dinner dishes 😉 !!! Can’t fault the response times or service received , many thanks Grace
