I approached Mr Clutch for a quote via their online portal and received a call back from a very informative, happy-to-chat fella who I felt, both knew his cars and what he was talking about, and, at the time, couldn't quite get over how much information he was giving me - for free - on the phone. Keep in mind - I know nothing really about cars, and I'd mentioned that I work really long days so getting in to see someone could be a while away yet, he asked all the right questions and I'd explained the symptom my car was having, he asked what car and knew it inside-out, commented on my luck about a certain type of dual-mass v non dual-mass thing (can't remember which way around) but explained it sounded like I needed a "re-skim" not a new clutch, but that my local store would happily perform a free no obligation check, no appointment. Just turn up.
Totally sold at this point.
And then when I got around to visiting, I was greeted by an eye rolling smirking head shaker, who cared more about pointing out what he didn't know than asking me anything. I had to lead the conversation, as he wasnt interested at all. Comments like "I don't know who you've spoken too" or "I dont even know what car you've got" etc (you havent f***ing asked!) Just left me feeling like he couldn't give a flying monkeys.
At the end of the day, I knew that I could easily have ended up needing a whole new clutch that could have cost hundreds, and I have the money to get it sorted, but Mr Clutch won't be getting a penny and I'll happily go elsewhere to somewhere that doesn't speak to people that way.
May have been the end of a long day? I work 10 hour shifts also, and I'm still polite to my service users.
The 2nd star is purely for the phone operator, I think he both needs a raise and/or a new job elsewhere, and that's only because 1 is the default lowest.

They replaced my shock absorbers and in under 2 years and 3000 miles they failed and had to be replaced. Mr clutch only warranty for 12 months so wouldn’t do anything. I went to another garage to get them fixed - hopefully with better parts this time!

Excellent advice and service from start to finish, helped me make it to the Crayford centre when I had a clutch problem on the A2. Guy on the front desk guided me on what to do whilst on the phone and got it fixed within 24 hours. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

4 attempts to change my clutch and broke my front bumper parked my car in a pile of tyres contacted the head office who didn't call back car still had issues with trust bearing (noisy video to prove)
absolute cowboys had to sell the car as it was not fit for purpose be warned do not use

"I was initially nervous"
I was initially nervous of using a big chain, but my Fait 500 clutch went while driving on the M25 & I was recovered to Mr Clutch in Crawley. From the start they were super helpful & Eugene, the boss, allowed me to drop my car on their forecourt over the weekend. Then Monday he gave me a reasonable cost to replace the clutch, but he was unable to do it in time as they discovered the bolts had fused when my clutch melted!
It took a lot more work for him to remove the sheared bolts, but he kept to his original quote, which was a very nice surprise. AND, the new clutch comes with a 2yr guarantee & 3 free inspections at 500 - 1000 - 1500 miles at any Mr Clutch garage. This is truly exceptional service, so rare in 2024, I’d recommend these guys to everyone!

I had a small issue with buttons on the car hand rest on drivers side . Munir from Crayford/Dartford branch fixed it 2 mins that other garages were asking £40.
Munir was polite and professional.
