UPDATE: EasySCAM are replying by lying that they don’t know about the case I am referring to, when we have a whole email correspondence and they know my name and details of the rental very well. But adding the booking reference here, so people don’t get fooled by this fraudulent company - order 3863678, booked from 14.09.24 to 22.09.24. I was the passenger in the vehicle and my husband was the one booking and driving the car. Please, easySCAM, don’t try to fool people! They’ve returned the deposit, after we’ve told them that we’re in contact with a Bulgarian show who’ve already shown their frauds to the public before. Otherwise at first they claimed we will not get deposit back due to invented and fake damages. This company is linked to mafia in Bulgaria, so please people avoid at all cost!

Scammers!!! Don’t ever book a car through them! We booked a car through them, but upon pick up, we ended up receiving another vehicle in already terrible condition - first red flag. The damages were already listed in the paper we got from them.
The guy at pick up took the whole deposit from the bank account, instead of only blocking the amount - second red flag.
Upon drop off, they guy just told us to park the car at the airport’s parking space and never even went to inspect it while we were there - third big red flag!
We waited a month before calling them asking where is our deposit, after which they LIED that they’ve sent us an email earlier with photos of damages supposedly we’ve done to the car and that they’re not sending us the deposit - we’ve never ever received any email from them. They promised they’ll resend the email but of course no such thing was done after which they stopped picking up our phone calls!
It’s SHAMEFUL that such a scam company is in operation and moreover at the airport where thousands of people arrive on daily basis and take usage of their “services”. We will do anything we can to stop them from doing illegal business and will take the case to the police.
Bottom line - please people AVOID THEM, NEVER BOOK A CAR THROUGH EASYSCAM BULGARIA, ops easyrent I meant…

We got scammed by this company, avoid it at all costs, they are not refunding the deposits !!! Still waiting for the deposit to be refunded after returning the car without any damages. They claimed on the phone the car was damaged, which is not true. Do yourself a favor and avoid them!

Warum habe ich mich nicht vorher über diese Betrüger informiert? Der günstige Preis und die fälschliche Annahme, dass wenn ich über die empfohlenen Mietwagen-Links von Ryanair buche, dass das schon vertrauenswürdig sein würde, haben uns den Familienurlaub versaut :-(
Wir haben das ganze Betrugsprogramm gebucht, so wie es in anderen Rezensionen zu lesen ist:
* Nutzlose Zusatzversicherung am Schalter
* Kaution von 1500€ nicht geblockt sondern abgebucht
* Total verbeultes Auto in dunkler Tiefgarage abgeholt
* Bei Rückgabe kein Mitarbeiter vor Ort und daher keine persönliche Übergabe möglich (Flug zurück wartet nicht)
* 2 Stunden nach Abflug, wurde dann ein angeblicher Schaden von 600€ belastet, der bei Abgabe nicht vorhanden war (komplettes Auto wurde von mir abgefilmt)

Beim ersten Anblick des Autos war mir sofort klar, hier wirst du jetzt so richtig abgezockt. Aber übernächtigt vom Flug, mit 2 Kindern und keine Nerven schnell mal ein anderes Mietauto bei einem anderen Anbieter zu organisieren ergibt man sich dem Schicksaal und hofft auf möglichst wenig Schmerzen.
Die Kaution, haben wir nach 2 Emails und einem Anruf nach 30 Tagen zurückerhalten und haben das gefeiert wie einen Lottogewinn. Die 600 Euro von der angeblichen Beule nicht und auf die vielen Emails mit Beweisfotos gab es nicht eine einzige Rückantwort.
Rückblickend war das Schlimmste aber, dass die ganze Sache uns den Sommerurlaub gehörig vermiest hat, da wir zittern mußten überhaupt mit dem Auto wieder heile vom Meer zurück zu kommen und nicht liegen zu bleiben (am Ende leuchteten 4 Warnlämpchen im Armaturenbrett) und unklar war, wie hoch der Betrug sein wird...

Diese ausführlichen Rezension schließt für mich dieses unliebsame Kapitel ab und ich hoffe die Welt damit ein Stückchen besser gemacht zu haben.

This is primarily advice from another victim.
It is your personal choice whether to rent.
They work with a well-honed scheme and sting the tourists-customers - regardless of which part of the world they come from.
It is a shame that this is allowed to happen and is happening again at the Terminal 2 Sofia-Bulgaria Airport car rental desk from Easy Rent Bulgaria.

I highly advise against using Easy Rent Bulgaria. Despite their low prices and seemingly positive reviews (which are likely fabricated), my personal experience was disastrous.
I rented a car with "full insurance" coverage for 48 hours. Upon returning home, I was shocked to find that my credit card had been charged 6,000 BGN!
After discovering damage to the car door while parked in a shopping center, I reported the incident to both Easy Rent and the police. The police refused to come to the scene, citing the absence of the other vehicle involved. When I attempted to file a report at the nearest station, I faced additional challenges, including the requirement to bring an interpreter. After spending a few hours at the police station, I could not obtain any documentation.
Upon returning the car, a representative from Easy Rent informed me that an additional 3,000 BGN would be temporarily deducted from my credit card as part of the insurance claim process. They assured me everything would be resolved without issue. Instead, the amount was charged immediately, and my case was never forwarded to the insurance company. Despite my repeated requests for details about the insurance policy, I only received an invoice for the charge.
To make matters worse, I was charged an extra 3,000 BGN from my deposit due to an unfounded claim that I smoked in the car. They provided a vague picture of what they alleged were "ashes" on the door handle, even though I was the only passenger and did not smoke at all. The car was given to me with half a tank of gas and in an uncleaned condition, suggesting an option that the "ashes" were left by the previous tenant and used as an excuse by the staff to unfairly withhold my deposit. Another option - The return protocol I signed documented only the damage to the door, raising the possibility that the photo of the "ashes" was staged by the staff after I had already left.
Reflecting on all the negative experiences of customers, here are some common complaints:
1. Easy Rent deducts the deposit directly from your credit card rather than simply placing a hold on the funds, using that cash for other purposes during the 30 business days it takes to process the deposit. 2. Deposits are frequently withheld for unjustified reasons.
3. The vehicles are often in poor condition, suffering from mechanical issues, scratches, and damages.
4. They frequently push low-cost vehicle upgrades, convincing you to accept these offers, only to charge a larger deposit of 3,000 BGN instead of what was initially quoted for a regular car. They then find ways to avoid returning it with dubious or false reasons.
5. If anything happens to the car—regardless of fault—and you don’t obtain a police report, your "full insurance" coverage may become meaningless. Easy Rent will impose exorbitant fees for damages, and it's questionable whether actual repairs will be made to the cars.
6. Requests for information regarding the insurance company or policy details go unanswered.
7. Easy Rent is undeterred by legal action in Bulgaria and employs misleading tactics against both residents and tourists.
8. Attempts to clarify any issues are often met with obstruction.
9. Negative feedback typically elicits responses in which they accuse you of lying, claim your name is not on their records, or label you as a fictitious reviewer.
If you have encountered issues with Easy Rent, you can take immediate action:
1. Start a complaint through the European Small Claims Procedure (ESCP)
2. Utilize the European e-Justice portal
3. Submit an official complaint to the consumer protection authorities in Bulgaria
4. Join the Facebook group: Easy Rent Bulgaria Victims" to share information about their deceptive practices

Fahrzeug-Zustand bei der Übergabe:
- stark verschmutzt, Müll von Vormieter überall verteilt
- Raucher-Fahrzeug (Geruch)
- Abblendlicht ging sporadisch aus
- Handbremse hatten keine Funktion
- Anzeige „Reifendruckkontrolle“ leuchtete immer ROT
- Wischwasserbehälter leer
- Scheibenwaschanlage: Düsen verstopft, Wischerblätter stark abgenutzt
- Karosserie: extrem viele Blechschäden, Steinschlag, Kratzer, Stoßstange hinten kaputt
- Fahrersitz hat mehrere Brandlöcher

Ich habe über einen Drittanbieter EconomyBooking ein Fahrzeug bei easyrent.bg gemietet incl. Vollversicherung. Der Servicemitarbeiter hat in sehr aggressiver Art versucht, mir zusätzlich eine teure Versicherung zu verkaufen, obwohl ich eine Vollkaskoversicherung in meinem gebuchten Paket bereits hatte.
Bei der Übergabe um ca. 01:00 in der Nacht musste ich den Wagen auf einem unbeleuchteten Parkplatz mit Hilfe meiner Handylampe auf bereits vorhandene Schäden untersuchen. Der Mittarbeiter hat äußerst unwillig die Vorschäden ins Protokoll aufgenommen, ohne dabei den Wagen selbst zu inspizieren. Laut seiner Aussage würden nur Kratzer ab einer Länge von 30 cm aufgenommen werden.
Die Kaution für das Fahrzeug wurde direkt abgebucht und nicht wie vereinbart blockiert.
Der Wagen war in einem desolaten Zustand, rundum verbeult und zerkratzt, technisch nicht in Ordnung bzw. untauglich im Straßenverkehr (siehe Liste oben).
Bei der Rückgabe habe ich den Mitarbeiter auf gravierende technische Mängel freundlich angesprochen. Die ruppige Antwort lautete, dass man sich für 10 EUR pro Tag nichts besseres wünschen solle. Darauf hin hat er vom Weiten sofort auf einen Kratz-Schaden am Plastikhalterung des linken Außenspiegels hingewiesen ohne dabei im Übergabeprotokoll nachzuschauen. Weitere Inspektion des Wagens erfolgte nicht.
Ich habe diesen Schaden definitiv nicht verursacht. Es handelt sich um einen alten Kratz-schaden am Plastik der Spiegelhalterung. Ich bin überzeugt, dass ich es bei der Übergabe in völliger Dunkelheit übersehen habe (warum auch immer ich diesen Wagen selbst inspizieren musste???).
Bis zu meinem Abflug blieben mir 40 Minuten. Das hat der Mitarbeiter sofort ausgenutzt und mich genötigt, ein Protokoll zu unterschreiben und meine Kreditkarte mit 1200 BGN erneut belastet, angeblich für die Reparatur. Am nächsten Tag folgte per Email eine Rechnung über 1200 BGN als Vertragsstrafe ohne weitere Details. Seitdem reagiert Easyrent.bg auf meine Nachfragen nicht.

I picked a car from sofia airport, reserved a Skoda, they gave me a mercedes without telling that is with extra charge, when I faced the worker in the desk he saied it is not an extra charge, but the deposit is double because you didnt take an insurance!
