"Unfair"

They sold me an ssl certificate with less features than what advertised. After contacting them I waited months for an answer and no solution has been found. I feel scammed by them. I will never use their certificates again, there are several alternatives, even free ones.

"HORRIBLE"

HORRIBLE. This disgusting excuse of a company tried to threaten legal action since we didn't authorize SSL with them. Disgusting customer service didn't bother to investigate or hear our story. DO NOT give money to these people, they don't deserve a single penny

"DV Issued in seconds (less than 30 minutes for everything)"

After reading the other reviews, as a precaution I only gave them an e-mail address that I use for spam. I paid for and received a 2-year DV Cert quickly for the price advertised (only valid for 13 months though due to new industry standard, so they will have to re-issues in a year). The whole process took less than 30 minutes. I have my webhosting at GoDaddy.com (economy Linux), but this cert was for a private server. I used Domain Verification via TXT (put in the ROOT as directed, even though I was getting the cert for a sub-domain) in my DNS to avoid giving them my e-mail address. I used dnschecker.org (this is VERY important to avoid DELAYS) to make sure the TXT record had propagated & the CAA ( Name = @, Flags = 0, Tag = issue, Value = digicert.com, TLL = Custom, Seconds = 600 ), I also put in a CAA record for the subdomain I was getting a Cert for. I did use their online CSR Generator (Make sure you save the Private Key if you do this), as a general rule you should generate the CSR locally and not use an online tool, this prevents you from having your Private Key exposed. They issued the Cert in under 30 seconds, I then installed my Private Key and Cert on my server along with their DigiCertCA.crt intermediate cert, rebooted my web server and Viola! Everything was working. This was not my first Cert, but was my first with DigiCert (Issued by RapidSSL). Prior to this they did take a week answering my questions about the necessary CAA record & could I use DNS verification and hostmaster@ domain.com as verification (yes to both, but as described I did not use that e-mail to avoid spam).

"3+ months for a code signing certificate renewal, absolute chaos"

We have tried to renew a code signing certificate and this was quite honestly the worst experience with any company I have ever had in my life and I would recommend anyone reading this to choose another provider. Yes, these are very drastic words and I am really not someone that generally leaves bad reviews but the way that DigiCert has handled our simple request is an absolute disaster on every level. I have spent SO MUCH of my time on this in the last few months, it's actually incredible. We have kept receiving conflicting information from DigiCert representatives on every step of the way. Then now, three months later we thought we are finally done and a new issue pops up because they made another mistake and actually needed something entirely different from us. I am just so, so tired with dealing with this company. The employees on the phone are friendly but they clearly have bigger organizational issues and are just absolute messy in their processes. Stay away from them if you can, there are plenty of competitors who do the same for less money without wasting your time.

"Incompetent and overpriced"

Applied for certificate renewal, was told it will take about 2 days. 2.5 weeks later it was not done, they kept working with the application from 2 years ago! Mentioned 2 or 3 times to look at the renewal application, but they still continues with application from 2018. Unbelievable, would not recommend them. $375 or about that for 1 year is more than anyone else charges. I am starting the application with IdenTrust, and can see immediately that applications are more professional.

"Most of the bad reviews are related to…"

Most of the bad reviews are related to the validation. The process is only hard if you don't have your organization information in order. It's not hard to set up a google listing or to make sure your gov registration is up to date.

Digicert has by far the best support that I've had to deal with out of the big CA's and they've worked with me through some pretty ridiculous situations.

"This is truly the worst company I have ever dealt with"

Been trying to get an SSL renewed for 4 days, constantly told it will be ready soon, but still not here. My production system will soon be inaccessible to my customers. This is truly the worst company I have ever dealt with
