"It’s better to use AusPost, or frankly anyone else"
Mon 11 December I made the grave mistake of trusting Interparcel to deliver my home loan documents to Sydney from metro Melb. My house settlement was Weds 20 Dec and they had to be there ahead of then.
After 3 days of not collecting the documents on this order, I ended up cancelling that order and spending nearly 4 times as much on a second order through Interparcel Fri 15 Dec for the same job.
By Monday 18 Dec, there were no tracking updates (not even the fact that they’d actually managed to collect this order Fri 15 Dec), so I also spent $14 on AusPost to express post another copy to Sydney.
Then Interparcel discovered on Tuesday 19 Dec that the shipment for order 2 wasn't in Sydney as I'd been told Monday, but was in fact still in Melbourne.
So I ended up spending $140 on a plane ticket, $12 on airport parking and getting up at 3:30am to drive to Melbourne airport so I could fly a copy of these documents to Sydney myself so that my house settlement could go ahead that day.
Happily AusPost came through for me, delivering the documents at 6:30am yesterday, as I was about to board the 7am plane to Sydney. It took AusPost 38 hours from drop off to delivery. This meant that our house settlement could go ahead and I didn't have to actually fly to Sydney.
A few minutes before settlement, Interparcel emailed to say that they'd finally managed to deliver the package, though our settlement slot would have already been lost by this time had we been relying on Interparcel.
Interparcel made 10 days of my life an absolute nightmare.
I've also spent around $230 plus the cost of driving 80 km each way to and from Melbourne airport.
Given all of this, you can imagine that I was a little annoyed I was when checking my credit card to see that Interparcel had not even refunded the cost of the initial order I placed with them.
