I've used Columbus many times and find the system works well, the coverages pretty broad, and price competitive.

Yet, they should cover cross-country skiing that is not on a piste, as it is usual to ski off resorts (in Canada).

Bizarrely, in 2003 they would not cover a sailing trip from Spain to the Caribbean (they had a yachting exclusion), despite it being the exact same trip as their 1492 namesake!

This insurance it’s kind of ridiculous, well you provide to cover whole medical insurance back on the trip, so I pay 90$ for a medical help, and I get back 2,65£ back from your insurance what it’s ridiculous. I will never recommend this company to no one and on any social media I put my comments to how you trick your customers, thanks for doing nothing.

I didn't need to claim anything luckily, but to buy the travel insurance it was simple and easy, no hassle and quite comprehensive at a reasonable price.

This is an online service and was reasonably straight forward or as straight forward online services can be but as always it does take a bit of working out. However in the main not too bad! And for my age (77yrs) and that of my wife (68yrs) it was good to get the travel insurance cover and the premium was reasonable. Will probably use again when we next travel but will go for an annual premium.

I didn't need to make any claim so I cannot tell about this. But the fact of being asked to review weeks after the trip is a good reason for me using Columbus again.

Although I was happy with the actual insurance cover process on the Easyjet website I had major problems in trying to identify how to correct an error I made : it is exceedingly difficult to contact your help once a deal is done. I had initially insured for 1 person only and wanted to add my wife's name. I had to resort to opening a new policy for both and asked to cancel and refund the first policy. This request is still unanswered and I am out of pocket consequently. Easyjet are just as difficult to get assistance from it seems
