"Phonebox will be the beginning of your nightmare!"
If you accidentally exceed your data plan, you will receive a bill of hundreds of dollars without any warning. Do you want to transfer to another carrier? Forget it! You have to beg them like a beggar to get your account number back. However, it is likely that they will ignore you and use various excuses not to provide you with the number, so you will not be able to port out. In the end, you have to give up your number. Don't think I am scaring you, you can search on Google, countless people have been scammed by them!

"Cheaper plan than most place"
Kumiko, IIRC treated my nicely and guided me through registering a new sim plan, and the plan itself is way better than the big 3, highly recommended.

"It was my first time to register my…"
It was my first time to register my phone plan in Canada, actually I was no knowledge about that, but she explained me technically about the detail, and it made me feel comfortable to trust her.

"Where to start.."
Where to start... I have had my personal account with phonebox with little to no issue. Where my issue comes from is I had my mother whom is a senior citizen with some cognitive issues change over to phonebox. The first month they claimed that my 79 year old mother had a data overage of $350.00. I was taken back as I put her on a 50gb plan. I don't go over 50gb and I'm a heavy data user. My mother being in a fixed income was in a panic so I paid the overage myself so she would be able to get phone calls from her doctors. The day after I paid her bill I happen to be adding a app an saw she had unopened text messages, so I went in her text messages and sure enough there was a text from phonebox stating she was getting close to her data cap... and that's all it said... the CRTC has mandated through legislation that a cell phone provider MUST HAVE EXPLICIT CONSENT!!! to go over your data cap!!! And that overage can not be more then $50.00! When I brought that to their customer service agent the agent escalated me to management. I got an email the next day stating they would refund my bank account immediately for only $250. 4 days pass I email them again.... I get a response many hours later stating that they have now placed a credit of $250 to my mother's account... it wasn't my mother's money it was mine... and that's not what was conveyed to me by their management team... I am seriously considering canceling my phonebox account and my mother's at this point. This is completely incompetence and not only unethical but it's illegal!!! They way they word their email makes it sound like they are doing you a favor... ummm no I am doing phonebox the favor by not making a complaint to the CRTC through the CCTS because it is on the CRTC website about how data overages are to be handled. The only reason I didn't file the complaint is that statement from management that the refund would be returned to my bank. Since phonebox hasn't followed through what was promised in an email I am giving phonebox to the end of business on Friday August 2, 2024 to follow through with what was a promise on phoneboxs management or I will file with the CCTS. I will have my bank refund the money to my account because I have the emails to send the bank to verify your position.. please govern yourselves accordingly.
