"Do not sign up with this company"
Do not sign up with this company. I have filed a formal complaint with CCTS and CRTC. You will lose your phone number. I was fed up with their service so switched to Bell. I have been trying to have my number peered out since June 30. Nobody can provide me with my account number, to give to Bell. It’s been a month with no access to my old number, I believe they do this on purpose to sell the number.

"My original plan with Phonebox was…"
My original plan with Phonebox was through Rogers. I was asked if I would like to switch plans for a lower cost. I declined this offer. Recently, however, I was told that I had to switch plans and that my new provider would be Telus and that my cell service would not suffer. I went ahead and switched and received my new Sim card, installed it and now no I have no service. What gives?

"Phonebox eSim worked really well."
I opted for a Phonebox eSim for our trip to Canada as I wanted to be able to make local calls while there as well as using data. They provided me with a local number which was extremely useful for people getting in touch locally and I was free to make as many calls to hotels, tours etc. as I wished. I opted for 1 week at CAD$19.95 and then extended for a second week. Everything was seamless once I had figured out how to activate the eSim - very easy actually and Phonebox responded to questions patiently and promptly. Would definitely use again.

"IF I could give them a big fact -100 I…"
IF I could give them a big fact -100 I would have.
Their site is supposed to be an e-sim website, but I believe they are scamming people. Once I paid for the e-sim card service I wanted, I received an email asking me for personal information like passport or driver's license to activate my e-sim card, as well as secondary sources of verification. I have used plenty of e-sim cards in Asia, Australia, and Europe (using one most recently in Amsterdam a few days ago) and I have never, ever, had any issues with any of them, or had any of those previous e-sim websites asking for personal and private information just to activate my account. So, it's definitely a scam and I in the process of trying to get my refund back via PayPal but please do NOT use this site...scammers, scammers, scammers.

"I hope it is a scam because otherwise...."
I just want to share with you how abysmal their customer care is. It is a definition of incompetence. This is an email I sent them:
On 27.5. I bought your services and expected to get an email with:
QR code to make the service work and/or
Steps to make the service work
And when is it going to work
What I got? Email saying "You paid for something! Good job!". So when the service did not work even though the error message still said it is going to be working on 27.5. I sent you an email. Your reply?
"Please send us:
PhoneBox Telephone # :
Account Holder’s Name : "
It does not work so how can I have these things, but ok, mistakes happen. So you asked for email I used for activation and yes, it is the one Iam writing you from. So you asked which plan I signed up for US or Canadian. Told you all that and on 31.5. you asked if it is working. It did not. You told me your US team said it is going to work on the 12th of June (start of my plan, this information could have been in the first email, no?). But it was not working on the 12th and you sent that info to your US team, or so you said on the 13th. On 14th still no progress (I had to ask) and I was told that there will be more info tommorow and I should keep an eye on my email. No email came (no, not even in spam folder). And as it was getting close to the end of my plan anyway (I had a week plan) I gave up on you since you can not fix it in 20 days.
What would make this better?
Starting each email with "Dear Valued Customer, Thank you for contacting PhoneBox." when Iam already sending you like a 6th email Iam not interested about your template as it feels like a spit to my face.
Tell me time my issue is going to be solved in and if you do not know it, tell me you are going to send me an email regarding progress in a few days (and then actually send it)
When it is not working at the time it should start, maybe offer a refund? It is not good for customers to ask, you should be the one offering. (And no, I dont want it now, keep it)
In the end just tell tell me it is not going to work in time instead of leaving me without a response. I dont have to think about it that way.
Name of the customer service employee at the end of an email. Sometimes I felt like talking to an AI, but I guess, it could help me better.

"Used in Canada"
Used in Canada,
Horrible experience. Took 5 different phone calls to try and activate my esim. At the end they are sending me a physical one which defeats the purpose of convenience. Will update once I get the physical sim. Not hopeful about anything from this company.

"Unbegrenzte Daten?

"US experience with PhoneBox"
I travelled to US paying to phonebox for US number. I wanted to extend my service accidentally clicking to wrong icon. They charged the service and despite the fact I immediatelly requested to cancel the service they have not refunded me anything. Service was cancelled butr money not received so far (3 weeks time). Communication with PhoneBox US is terrible not answering to the phone or email.
