All you really need to know is that is has taken almost 16 months, countless hours of emails, stress and the involvement of Highland Council's Trading Standards team for us to recover the full costs of a booking made in March 2019 for a holiday in June 2020.

"Anyone considering using LHH Scotland…"

Anyone considering using LHH Scotland for property rental would do well to be aware of the behaviour and conduct of this business.
For months following the Covid pandemic LHH has refused to refund customers who have paid for holidays that they could not legally take, arguing all manner of flawed reasons why they were entitled to retain customer funds in the face of quite clear legal rulings to the contrary from the CMA and Trading Standards Scotland.
Genuinely aggrieved customers had they legitimate postings on this site removed by LHH arguing they were defamatory. They were not. They were simply the unpalatable truth.
Finally and to no ones surprise LHH has been legally forced to repay all the customers whose money they illegally sought to retain.
Dozens of former customers have sworn never to use LHH again.

Booked with LHH Scotland for a holiday in the Black Isle in June/July 2021 and had a wonderful time. The property we used (Drummond Reach) was excellent and matched the property description on the LHH website. We would not hesitate to use this particular property or LHH Scotland again. Communication with LHH was excellent, and we had no problems with any descriptions or instructions provided in their emails.

We have just had a wonderful week at Corncrake Cottage on Harris .
Fantastic location for Scarista Beach and also Golf course.
Well placed to visit the rest of Harris and also Lewis.
House well equipped and very comfortable.

"Beautiful Galloway"

We have just returned from a superb week at Beltie Lodge in Galloway. The house was perfect for our family of 11 and a dog. It was spacious and very well appointed with quality furnishings and equipment. The breakout space for the children proved very popular. Our favourite space was the large kitchen and open plan dining area enclosed by 2 glass walls opening out to the large enclosed garden.
Carrick beach is walkable and Sandgreen beach about 3 miles away although our favourite was Mossyard. The nearby towns of Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright are beautiful with quality butchers, bakers, gift shops and eateries to name a few.
The welcome pack with local produce was much appreciated. Susan was very helpful and did everything to make our holiday special.
I found all written contact with LHH went smoothly and it was comprehensive in its content so there was no requirement to speak with anyone from the company. I would have no hesitation in using them again and would hope to do so in the future.

"Lovely stay at this great place"

Lovely stay at this great place. Beautiful location with the most amazing views to clachan sands. Best sunsets too! Deer grazing behind us and wildlife aplenty.
Caroline was really helpful and there was a lovely welcome pack. House is really well equipped with quality linen and kitchenware.
Berneray is a cycle away with a lovely beach and good food at the inn.
A great base and sure we’ll return.
Hot tub was fun too!

"A perfect post Lock Down birthday holiday"

My daughter initially booked Star na Mara near Arisaig for my birthday week in June 2020 which because of Covid Lock Down was held over till this year.
What an absolutely marvellous week we have just enjoyed : the house was excellent; beautifully sited, well equipped and very comfortable; the weather was perfect and no midges and for me, many many wonderful childhood memories even to hearing the cuckoo at 04.00!
We would strongly recommend LHH whose staff were were both efficient and helpful.

"Ardroil Beach, Uig, Isle of Lewis"

We booked a holiday cottage with LHH on the Isle of Lewis. It was a very smooth transaction, with good instructions provided at every stage of the process. Cottage was just as described and had everything you could ever need and more for a great holiday. The area around Uig is simply stunning and has a long list of spots you must see. The community owned and run shop is well stocked and has 24 hour petrol pump facilities. Not a lot of nearby eating places but the Uig Sands restaurant is an absolute must if you like your food (booking will be required). All in all a great experience and one we would be keen to repeat again.

"Excellent"

We had a lovely week at Machair Cottage in North Uist. The cottage was fabulous and we had a great week exploring some of the incredible beaches around the islands. Our booking was originally for 2020 but we were unable to travel due to the pandemic. I found both LHH and the cottage owners really helpful and considerate in helping us reschedule to this year which was greatly appreciated. For anyone thinking of visiting North Uist I would definitely recommend Machair Cottage which is in a fantastic location, very well equipped and comfortable. Nearby beaches to visit are Clachan Sands, West Beach (on Berneray) and Traigh Iar which are all stunningly beautiful and so quiet you feel as if you have them all to yourself. There aren't many restaurants nearby but we visited Langass Lodge twice and it was superb. All in all an excellent week and we are hoping to return next year.
