"Product is misrepresented by agencies"

Still a misrepresented product by "partner" Better Beach rentals. We were directed to the product when we asked for hurricane insurance. A hurricane made the property inaccessible when we expected to use it. Red Sky response does nothing to address this misrepresentation. I strongly recommend not buying this product for that purpose. Use other means. It's a scam.


Yes - seems like a scam.

We bought Red Sky insurance on the recommendation of Better Beach Rentals in Oak Island, North Carolina. We had booked a beach rental from Sept 29-Oct 5 for a family reunion. In full realization that it was hurricane season, we asked if we could purchase hurricane insurance. Better Beach Rentals said they "partnered" with Red Sky Insurance, so we bought the insurance through Better Beach. The day of our prospective arrival, Hurricane Ian came ashore just south. We stopped our travel and on the advise of locals, including Better Beach employees, and abandoned our trip. The property was unusable for days. Our claim was denied because there was no "Evacuation Order".

Every service provider other than Better Beach returned our deposits because they were unable to deliver service during the period. The only money NOT refunded was the insured rental. We are referring the claim to the Illinois Insurance Commissioner for examination.

Filing a claim was a nightmare. You fought against every thing I filed for. You ultimately paid because it was a legitimate claim, but you sure tried not to.

"Red Sky Honored Hurricane Ian Claim"

We purchased RedSky Travel Insurance via a booking with Garden City Realty in Myrtle Beach. Hurricane Ian had a direct hit near our condo a day before our scheduled arrival. Garden City Realty informed us that the condo would not be inhabitable on the first day of our trip. We canceled the entire week. Although it appeared that by the 3rd day of the week, we could have got into our rental, Red Sky Insurance honored the claim and paid in full.

"Never Again"

Completely agree with the other negative reviews.
I left my rental three days early because my father in law was not expected to live through the day. He actually passed the day after I got home.
I filed and was told they needed an attending physicians statement. I exp the trip was interrupted due to my FIL illness, not mine.
I sent a copy of his obituary (confirming I was his DIL) and certified death certificate. In lieu of an aps, I asked for reimbursement for only the date of death and the following day (both of which were paid for in my rental).
I was informed the policy cancels the day the trip is interrupted. WHAT?! Why have trip interruption insurance if the policy cancels if it occurs?
I called and asked what information they needed that was not already on the death certificate. No answer to that. The answer was restating the policy cancellation info and asking for an aps to allow the claim to be considered. I asked if a statement from Hospice, who attended my FIL for 10 days prior to death, would suffice. Answer - no. Need an aps from the Dr who referred him to Hospice. Which, btw, was a hospitalist in a huge health care system.

This is crazy. I am currently waiting on a management callback. There was zero push back when I asked for a manager and they have a 24 - 48 hr window already in place. Apparently this was not an uncommon request, confirmed by the reviews I wish I had read earlier.

I just booked another trip with the same realty company. When asked if I wanted insurance - NO - and exp the current situation.

The answer for Red Sky Insurance will forever be no.

Yesterday I posted the review. A manager promptly called me last evening around 7:30. Points for that.
I was not able to take the call and returned it this morning.
This afternoon I got notification there was a response to my review.
At the same time I received an email that my claim had been processed and an eob would be available within 24 hrs.
I have just received the eob confirming my claim was paid in full.

I provided no additional information and the claim was paid.
Cudos for doing the right thing. However, since the same information had been there since the claim was filed and death certificate submitted; why wasn't it paid then?

Glad the claim is paid. Glad the back and forth is done. Glad I won't have to file a complaint with the State Department of Insurance.

Ultimately the right decision was made and thank you for that.

"WARNING !!"

WARNING !!! Do not purchase travel insurance from Red Sky! Waste of money. Long story short...we rented a beach house in Florida for a few days in early August. Had to leave a day early because I was sick. Contacted Red Sky on the way home and told them. Got home, made an appt to see our family doctor, went in first thing in the morning. Red Sky refused to pay the claim for trip interruption even though I had all the paperwork, including doctors form completed. They said that it was because I didn't go to the doctor before I left and if I read the "contract" I would see that. The representative that I spoke with the morning we left, NEVER mentioned any of this. It's a slimy loophole and they know it. And it took them two months to let me know the outcome. People don't return calls/emails and none of them know what they are doing. SO MANY COMPLAINTS!!!!

"My family & I had a 3 week beach…"

My family & I had a 3 week beach vacation booked. A month prior to my vacation my doctor advised me that I needed to have surgery. My surgery was scheduled for a few weeks before our scheduled vacation. Due to restrictions from surgery and complications that arose during I was medically unable to travel. After several months of back and forth,numerous Drs statements & weekly follow up calls I received denial stating it didn’t meet qualifications. There was absolutely no way I could travel due to restrictions & ongoing medical care received that overlapped with out of state scheduled vacation. Simply told it was an elective procedure and I’m out $5,100.
Very upsetting to purchase insurance to be told that you should of just waited to have it even when your Doctor Indicated it was needed.

DO NOT USE THIS SCAM COMPANY!!! Seriously, use anyone else. They are a complete scam and will NOT give you your money back if you cancel your trip. Regardless of why. $1000.00 gone. Just like that.

"Insurance fraud"

In the process of suing them for fraud, if you've been victimized by this company who breached their contract you should too.. ITS NOT ILLEGAL TO RECORD PHONE CALLS IN TEXAS WITHOUT THE OTHER PARTIES KNOWLEDGE. My stay was canceled by the agency I rented through, I the renter did NOT request the cancellation. I called to have this undone and the room had already been booked by someone else. They kept my money. I disputed with my bank and REDSKY provided FALSE documentation to my bank to deny my claim. (Which helps my legal case) There is no documentation to provide when I didn't request a cancelation. It was cancelled by Ryson Rentals and immediately booked by another party. Despite my immediate request to NOT cancel the reservation. It has been 60 days since this incident, way past the 30 their policy states.

"I’m like the other people submitting…"

I’m like the other people submitting reviews. So so unhappy & very upset with Red Sky Ins. Had to cancel a trip to TN due elderly mother sick & in hospitals numerous times in 2 yr, Got info on mother from her DR. “DENIED”- as was not sick according to Rd Sky- when claim submitted!!! I paid extra when made reservations back in Oct 2021. I then sent a PAYMENT in APRIL 2022 to the Condo Properties to help me with balance that was not due til now. I cancelled mid May, did paperwork, mother back in hospital in June -resubmitted & was denied in August,then appealed & denied. Told Red Sky keep The initial 1st payment but the APRIl 2022 to the Condo needs to be returned as Not Their Money it was a Payment I didn’t have to make! !! I wish I could talk to all of you who are just like me. THIS is not right & someone is keeping out money😔😳
