"We have owned and operated a brick and…"

We have owned and operated a brick and mortar “mom and pop” shop in middle America for over 25 years and there is NOTHING more annoying than the endless sales calls wanting me to switch cc companies, etc- but Mary Robert’s gave us a call one day and absolutely convinced us to switch.

She made a lot of promises that she delivered on- from the top she was smart and well informed, and we didn’t have a single question that went unanswered. The kicker for us was the lengths that she went to for us when she didn’t have to- our situation was different than most- we were on the heels of the death of our business partner with taxes overdue and miles of paperwork- Mary went out of her way to call us weekly with reminders to take care of this or that- she has an intuition for business that doesn’t go unnoticed. In addition, she was able to give us information others hadn’t- we weren’t sure if she was a sales person, a company rep, or an accountant- but she played all the roles for us and we are grateful.

25 years in business and rarely have we left a review for anything- but Mary not only went the extra mile with Shift4, she ran the whole marathon.

"In this day and age"

In this day and age, it is getting harder and harder to run a small "brick and mortar" retail business. It seems that a lot of emphasis is going into online businesses. Needless to say with managing staff and inventory, it is important for us to have a credit card processing service that we can rely on and trust. Mary has been incredible with providing assistance with anything we need. Most recently, we had a customer who claimed that we charged her twice. We told her that we would look into it and get back to her. She was getting irritated that we wouldn't just take her word for it and just refund her the amount she claimed that was charged twice. Not having my laptop handy, I decided to reach out to Mary and ask her for the number to customer service so that I could address the issue. Mary offered to handle this knowing that I just returned from a week long vacation with my family. Being so accustomed to taking care of everything myself, I was pleasantly surprised that someone else was willing to help me. All she requested was for me to send her the transaction ID and the date of the transaction. Relieved, I continued playing catch up with the tasks that needed attention from missing a week of work. The next day, I received a call right after opening the store. I noticed it was Mary and my heart dropped as I just then remembered that I didn't send her the info she requested in order to assist me. I answered her call and immediately began to apologize, but she insisted that it was okay and she was sympathetic to the many tasks I was handling. Mary explained that the charge was NOT ran twice and showed me where i could see the information to show the customer that she indeed did NOT get charged twice. A big weight was lifted from me!

I get solicited calls to entertain switching our credit card processing service at least twice a week. I refuse to leave Shift4 and Mary due to the reliability of service from Shift4 and the trust I have in Mary to look after our best interest. If you have a small business and are looking for a credit card processing service you can "set and forget," call Shift4. You wont regret using them and if you happen to get Mary to manage your account, you'll understand that there are still people that sincerely care about their clients.
