I've bought a few things over the years from Skandium, mainly String furniture – if there were ever any issues with price or delays with delivery (due to supply chain/courier issues affecting the whole world) then they were dealt with fastidiously by Luke Jeffrey at Skandium. I've found the company and Luke in particular always professional, respectful and a great help over email, both before and after purchase.

Very helpful and clean and tidy. Took legs off to get sofa through the door then putback on with the minimum of fuss. Texted the night before to confirm time of arrival. Excellent service.

"There is a failure to update the…"
There is a failure to update the website with accurate lead times. String Pocket shelving still states "Typically dispatched within | 5 weeks". 5 weeks has elapsed and the update at the moment is a further 9 weeks, which pushes the lead time to 14 weeks.
Clearly consumers will adhere to lead times, as long as they are a true reflection of current circumstances. Refund requested to end this saga.

"There’s clearly some big issues"
There’s clearly some big issues within this company at the moment. I ordered four items expecting them all to be delivered within a week. One item, I was then told was not in stock until 4 weeks time, which I’m still waiting for. Two of the remaining three items were then only delivered because of my delivery query (otherwise they would have arrived with the out of stock item when it was finally available!!!) I have sent numerous emails about the missing third item and apparently it’s lost in the warehouse somewhere.
Luke seems to be running the company single handedly…
Considering the high prices Skandium charge I had expected a certain level of customer service.
I placed this order using a £250 wedding gift card, those who gifted it to myself and my husband would be mortified if they knew the difficulty we’ve been having

"I was told the stock info showing on their website is INCORRECT..."
Ordered and paid for 4 items a week ago during the summer sale but nothing happened since then. Called them up today and I was told all 4 items are out of stock until the end of Sep.
I was shocked as it literally says 'in stock' when I open them on their website even right now. Ironically, it not only says in stock but also gives a specific quantity on the website like 6 items left.
I asked if Skandium no longer wants to sell it because obviously, the price has returned to full price? I don't believe if they do so.
Anyway, please STOP buying anything from their website until they fix the issue otherwise you will just waste your time and let them to hold your money for nothing. Also, everything could go wrong (fully understandable) but please proactively contact your customers for the stock update at least instead of waiting for them to contact you after 8 days. Ordering from your website means I give up the sales on your competitor websites so you will need to know there is an opportunity cost so please value the 'trust'.
The lady who answered my call was lovely, responsive and helpful. Happy with her response for sure but not with Skandium particularly after they sold to the new owner.

"Lengthy delays in shipment of item"
I purchased a Lind DNA leather desk mat which was not indicated as being out of stock. I followed up multiple times to be told they were awaiting stock, after a number of weeks I gave up and cancelled the order.

No delivery info very little communication, had to chase for all my delivery information .. arrived on a day that I had no notification about received a text 15 mins before delivery ..luckily I was in .. VERY expensive delivery service and nothing special about it.

I ordered a gift for an anniversary. While there were delays in supply and dispatch - understandable given our current climate - Caroline, my customer service provider put up with my questions and panic around it shipping on time. She handled every query (and there were a few!) with calmness and answered all my questions without delay.
OUTSTANDING customer service.
My items arrived in good order and in time for the anniversary.

"Shocking"
Shocking.
Ordered a light fitting and after order was placed was advised it would be several weeks before delivery. The date came and went and when this was chased, I received a patronising response stating, I must have missed the delay due to the “excitement of ordering”. Having trawled emails, saw that I had missed no such thing but they had in fact not informed me until after order was placed and even then they had missed their own delayed order date. This came and went with a further email from me. I was then informed there was a further delay and not to worry because they had made an extra large order this time with their supplier. I would have to wait a further two weeks. I told them this was not okay and a refund would not fix the problem because I would still be without the light fitting. I have to date heard nothing back.
