"New unit."

I've only had this unit for about a month so this may be a little premature for an accurate review. Overall, it seems to be doing a good job. I've noticed a couple of drawbacks though that I thought would be worth mentioning.
1. Larger bottles, i.e. chardonnay, don't fit well in the racks. They're pretty snug, which binds the racks when you try to pull them out.

2. This unit puts out a lot of heat. More than I thought would be possible.

Model EL-54COMM seems to be keeping a resonable temperature. My cheap thermometer reads 55 degrees; the LED temperature of the cooler reads 53. The compressor cycles on about every 15-20 minutes for 5 minutes and a fan cycles more frequently to control humidity. The sound is audible, but not obnoxious. The humidity fan is quieter than the compressor.

It claims to hold 41 bottles, but I only fit 36. That is not a problem for me; I have not tried to cram more bottles inside and have not tried to adjust the shelves. The top shelf could hold 5 or 6 splits.

The shelf mechanism glides out very easily for quick loading. All but the bottom shelf holds the bottles parallel to the front making the labels easy to read. The bottom, stationary shelf holds the bottles perpendicular to the front. I am happiest that the shelves accept various bottle sizes (probably decreasing the total number). The slide-out shelves hold most sizes except champagne, but the bottom shelf holds six champagne bottles with no problem.
Bottle diameter is critical to the number of bottles any cooler will hold. Many manufactures use "standard" when referring to bottle size. Standard is generally the size of a 750 ml bordeaux bottle (very pronounced shoulders near the top; cabaret sauvignon and zinfandel come in this shape). However, other than specialty wines, this is the smallest diameter bottle. Fitting sloped bottles like chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, or point noir, for example, into "standard" can be difficult because their diameter is up to one-half inch larger.

I am very satisfied with this cooler and recommend it to those who do not store a larger number of bottles. In addition, customer service was very quick to answer a question I emailed about the humidity fan.

I bought this unit because it matched other appliances in my kitchen, and it had good reviews. I have had it for over a month and it is operating perfectly.

So far appears to be a very nice wine refrigerator, the only issue I had was it was very difficult to find the Serial number to register the product. I called the technical support number and they told me how to find it although on the tag, they do not refer to it as a serial number, they refer to it as a Product Number and since that was the only other number other than the Model # I assumed it was the serial number.

Other than that we look forward to enjoying it.

My Vinotemp VT60 stopped cooling after 10 years of working great. I went to the Vinotemp web site and contacted them via email, quite honestly not expecting much. Richard M. responded back to me very timely, asked me lots of questions about what it was doing, sounding like, etc, and suggested that the problem might be a Relay & Overload switch that could be easily replaced. While I was hopeful he was right, diagnosis of electrical problems over email seemed a bit iffy. I ordered the part, it came within a few days, and installing it was relatively easy and within 30 minutes the cooler was back down to the factory temperature setting. Richard was totally spot on on the problem and the solution. Great customer service!

Doesn’t cool properly. Too hard to find someone to service. Keep the bar low on this beautiful non cooling unit as another wasted space.

Our Vinotemp VT-52SN wine cooler worked flawlessly for many years and finally it stopped cooling. We contacted Vinotemp technical support (Richard Moreno) for help and Richard offered prompt, clear and excellent guidance. He did an outstanding job. We will buy another VinoTemp wine cooler.
