I was having trouble with the app and the chat facility was really helpful and pretty quick. My only negative so far is I found it difficult to verify my identity and the problem was my out of date passport, the app didn’t tell me what the problem was it just refused to work which was frustrating.

"Not allowed to rent a house"
Wanted to rent a house, was told I had to use checkboard app to complete the referencing stage.
Turns out that they only accept a passport and driving licence for ID. Having never been over seas, and not having to drive I don't have either. This meant I couldn't continue with the referencing through the app.
After contacting them via the number on their webside, they simply said there was nothing they could do and that I would have to speak with my housing agency, who in turn said that by law they are not allowed to go without me finishing the referencing stage as it's used to prevent any possible money fraud.
I'm now constanly reminded via email to complete my ID check, reminding me that I'm no longer able to getthe dream property me and my partner wanted to rent, and the smug "help" hyperlink they provide for if you are having issues with this step simply refers you to a page that states "Sorry at the moment we are not accepting any other documents."
Not everyone has a passport and driving licence.. they clearly know this to be the case otherwise they wouldn't have a help section about it. So why no alternative?
