"Never again"
If you are 18 years old and have a train compartment to yourself, this seems like a nice option. But we (50+ couple) were brought together with 3 gentlemen who got on at different times at different stations, who did not want to open the windows and had large suitcases with them. It was very stuffy, the heating was howling, we were stuffy all night and it is claustrophobic, especially the upper beds. The beds are very uncomfortable. It is like lying on a slightly thickened ironing board. The fellow passengers were snoring and during the night one of them let out a terrible fart. With the windows closed. We had ordered breakfast with a romantic idea, but there was no restaurant car and in the evening we received a box with a minimal breakfast, crackers as big as half a teaspoon and a carton of orange juice that would not look out of place in a school trip package for a 6 year old. We will never do this again, a one-off adventure. We arrived at our destination dead tired.
To add some positives: The one star is for the friendly staff, very nice stewards who try to help you with your questions and try to solve your problems. What a job! Other positive: the train was on time.

"Very old trains"
Very old trains. The down bed are uncomfortable I couldn’t sleep. It’s too expensive for the poor comfort

"Better than travelling during the day "
Comfort was ok, could be better nowadays but these are old trains. Much better and more comfortable than travelling by train during the day in any case! And much more time on the day before and after than I would have had if I had taken a plane. Hoping for night trains to be used more often and commonly again, so the standard can be increased at some point and prices lowered.

"Too expensive for the service offered"
The company is a private one and they should be commended for starting this adventure with the (limited) means they have (i.e old sleeping carriages not really kept up to standard). A lot does not work or is missing (toilets, overheated cabins, missing ladder, broken locks etc…) which could all be forgiven if the price of the ticket was reasonable… but it’s not and even if staff is really nice and friendly, and the restaurant car was a treat, sadly it doesn’t reach the level of service you would (rightly) expect for that price. We had an adventure but I felt a bit cheated in the end which is sad…

"Security"
Can’t lock your compartment when you leave it, so personal effects are unsecured while you’re in the toilet etc. (And I’m not convinced the compartment door locked securely even from the inside.)
No towels in toilet or compartment.
Almost no water in compartment.
The only electric power socket in the compartment was inside the toilet cabinet, with nowhere to rest the device being charged, and it only worked for part of the journey.
No WiFi.
Poor breakfast.

"Don’t bother, like worst of 1970s British rail!! "
Train was like something out of 1970s British rail. The water in the in cabin water sink didn’t work. The ceiling tiles were knocked down in the toilet for our carriage so it too was out of order and so 2 carriages had to share 1 toilet - which stank even before the journey started. The rest of it was okay but definitely not worth the money!!! Travel by day if you can.

"A great way to travel!"
A great way to travel!
I was in a compartment just for women which was a great option. The carriages are old, but the bunks were perfectly adequate and a clean sheet, pillow and blanket were provided. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
My only disappointment was with the condition of the toilets, but, as the carriages are old I can understand that it would be very difficult to upgrade.
I will definitely be taking this train again to visit my daughter.

"Good experience, minor issues"
We traveled from Amersfoort Centraal to Prague. We liked that we could take this train from Amersfoort and not just Amsterdam/Rotterdam. The host was friendly and the seats/beds were comfortable enough. Waking up around Dresden meant that we could enjoy the beautiful view. This travel experience definitely was an upgrade if you are used to budget airlines, especially considering that you arrive right in the heart of Prague and you do not need an airport shuttle. However, one of the (two) bathrooms and one of the (three) washrooms were very dirty. Other rooms were clean, as well as the cabins. The curtains were too short, which made it hard to block the light from the hallway out. Bring a sleeping mask! It definitely was an older train, which has its charms. But even old trains can be cleaned and enhanced better than this. European sleeper is investing in options like dining carts, so I hope that they will invest in the sleeper carts or a more intensive timetable in the future!
Price wise it was reasonable. If we would have made the journey by car it would have cost us more in gas and an overnight stay (and time). We did book months in advance and took the least luxurious couchette option available. Overall I really liked the experience. I would recommend European Sleeper to friends and family.

"Very poor experience "
The train that I travelled from Brussels to Berlin was very poor. Forget about getting any sleep on a night train if it is operated by ES
