"They fail at the basics"

Got a notification at 5.09pm that my Package was Delivered - but it wasn't. As GLS Customer Support Lines inexplicably close at 5pm, I had to wait until the next morning to try and speak with them.

9am the next day I called and spent 20 minutes on hold, never moving from #5 in the queue. All of a sudden a nice young lady took the call, and while I can't fault her, what she told me had me dumbfounded.

She could see that the Driver had delivered my package, but to a totally different address. This is despite the House Number, Street Name and EirCode being clearly on the Delivery Address.

I asked where it was delivered to, so I could try and retrieve it myself, but she told me "It was delivered to an address that's about an hour away from you" and couldn't disclose any more info.

The next day I opened my front door in the afternoon to find the package dumped on the ground. Driver never rang the doorbell or knocked the door. It could have been stolen by anyone and I've no idea how long it was out there.

For a Logistics Company to fail so badly at the basics it's likely a combination of poor hiring, poor training and poor management; but either way I don't care - if I see GLS as the shipping partner for any future online shopping, I will immediately cancel my order, inform the vendor I'm cancelling my order because I won't use GLS, and I will take my business elsewhere.

"Worst delivery company in Ireland "

So I received an email on 2nd August to say my delivery was delayed but would receive it within 1=3 working days. No order arrived. I started emailing and calling gls to find out where my order was. I kept getting the run around. They said they would put in a search for the order. Still nothing. Then order status said order was delivered even though it wasn't, and still hasn't been delivered. The customer service is beyond dreadful. They take no responsibility for your orders. I still haven't received my order. Avoid using this company at all costs. I have NEVER dealt with a worst company. If I could give minus stars I would.

"If I could give zero stars I would"

If I could give zero stars I would. Twice now I've had the worst experience I've ever had with a courier company. Despite the fact that I work from home and am home all day every day Mon to Fri I received an email to say that I hadn't been home when they tried to deliver. After having to search for an email on their website I got delivery rearranged to the next day. Again I was home all day. And again I was sent an email to say they had missed me. When I emailed customer services again they told me that since delivery had been attempted twice it wouldn't be attempted again and I'd have to go to the Dublin to pick the parcel up! Only after insisting no one had attempted to deliver and providing my address again did they finally deliver on the third day (dropped the parcel on the doorstep and ran so it wouldn't have mattered if I was home the first day or not).
Now again this week I had the exact same experience. The only difference being no one suggested I go to Dublin to pick the parcel up this time.
GLS offer an absolutely horrendous courier service in Louth. I'll be avoiding needing to use their services at all cost going forward.

"Not sure how irish government allowing these clowns"

Update: 2-Sep-2024. Delivered today morning. So increasing the rating. Atleast got my parcel.

Not sure how irish government allowing these clowns to operate. I received an email that my pet food from zooplus will be delivered on 29th Aug. Then I didn't get it that day. After 1day I received an email that my parcel is delayed.
Never seen any courier service so disorganised. Any idea how to complain to irish government. Not fit to operate. I have to buy my pet food again locally. 🤬🤬🤬

"Driver dumped an expensive package at…"

Driver dumped an expensive package at the open gates of my driveway, 30m from my house and it was 4 hours before I saw the email notification...anyone could've stolen it. Dreadful, careless, couldn't give a damn service. Appalling, would advise everyone to never use this service.

"Stolen 📦 "

Hi . First of all I have to say the GLS delivery company is the worst delivery company on the planet. Communication zero, responsibility zero, costumer service zero. Tragedy , tragedy, tragedy. I have been told ma parcel was lost, but true is the parcel wasn’t delivered but stolen by driver. They send me in app the parcel was delivered and signed by me. Lie , lie, lie. This company zero start from 5. They should close the business!!!🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

"Worst Delivery company in Ireland"

Worst Delivery company in Ireland, my package arrived in Ireland and was in there warehouse for Four weeks, when I emailed them they said it wasn’t there, my parcel information has since been deleted and they are not replying to any emails and when I try to call I’m left on hold for over an Hour.
I’ve had a few parcels delivered by them and every time there’s an issue.

" The worst experience I've ever had"

I've been waiting for a package that was shipped 15 days ago. It’s been 10 days since it arrived in the city, and after that, there have been no updates. If I had walked to pick up the product myself, I would already have it in hand, yet this company can’t even do the bare minimum.

It’s pointless to send emails or call them—their customer service is basically nonexistent, and when you do manage to get through, they just ask for more time (in my case, they asked for another 2 weeks) — 2 weeks to deliver a product that is supposedly already in the city, which is absurd (clearly a lie).

Both the supplier and I believe the product was stolen internally at GLS. The supplier is sending a replacement, but again through GLS. I really hope at least the second package gets delivered...
