"GLS deserves more appreciation than it gets"

GLS seems to receive a lot of unfair bad reviews when its actually FAR BETTER than even the acclaimed Fedex/TNT that lately only give fob offs to their consignees and make us wait a lifetime for a reply AND take WEEKS to deliver to certain countries ( that is if the parcels don't disappear ) . The Limerick GLS manager Eamonn kelly goes beyond to assist his customer service team if necessary and that is a big plus and should be appreciated .
Now, the down side is that the drivers can cause unnecessary issues if delivering at a time when the consignee is not in ; they may leave the parcel with a neighbor or safe areas around the address without leaving a note to communicate the action driving the consignee mad . Just a simple note ! That sure needs to change asap.
Also, it would be great if their partner Parcel Force UK could up their game; their customer service is not good and their drivers also never leave a card/notification of attempt. It can be mind numbing if you are sending a parcel to the UK from IRE with GLS which will then be passed onto Parcel Force.
Overall, GLS has proven to be a very good company ( during covid plandemic and all) and it has room for greatness .

An absolute disgrace of a delivery service...my parcel was supposed to arrive last Friday,I'm still waiting for an email back after multiple emails to them.!!status of my parcel hasn't changed since Saturday and not one answer from this place..an absolute joke of a business,defooo WONT EVER use them again!!!

GLS had package from 3rd to 10th, or 7 days(for a 2-3 working day delivery). Accepted bank holiday but still way too long.
Worse than that, I received email from GLS saying package dropped off at neighbours.
When I rang GLS, they first said they were allowed to if no one home.
I told GLS they had both her contact number and mine so why weren't we contacted?
After explaining friend after surgery so was home they told me if she wasn't able to answer the door then they should have been informed!
(They really need to make there minds up and get their story straight...was it she wasn't home or unable to answer the door?)
When I explained she's not left alone either son or husband would be with her they said they'd ring driver.
Their driver's answer was "she told me to leave it there"
After contacting her son, GLS driver had rung my friend but it was the driver that wanted to leave it in a local shop, she did not ask it to be left there!
How dare they, just because he couldn't be bothered to drive to her house....what sort of company is this???
Pay for delivery and the customer has to go and collect it from a point that suits the driver!!!
Shamefully ...I can't even call it a service.
Update. After being in contact directly with my friend, the GLS driver didn't even ring her...he txt her and TOLD her where he was leaving her package and for her to collect it!!
Seriously???

Tracking said parcel would be delivered Wed. - NOt delivered.
Emailed and phoned Thurs. was told it would be delivered later that day. NOT delivered.
Today. Tracking system shows item now at depot for delivery today (Fri)

Delivery driver rang my mobile to ensure i was at home to recieve my parcel. Missed call and recieved a return call. Upon delivery every professional and great professional approach. Extremely fast delivery. Would heighly reccomed GLS for any personal deliverys. Very happy customer in Co Meath
