"Autoship never stopped"

The products are fine, but be careful about using their autoship. I tried twice to get it stopped. The autoship kept coming. I just now tried again and asked them to take back the product they just shipped. They said they would allow me to return, but it would cost 20% of product cost. BEWARE.

"Healthy Pets has been a lifesaver"

I got my dog from a shelter. She was about 6 months old, starving, and in terrible shape with bites and injury wounds all over. A few months down the line, she started appearing with other injuries. After a jump at the park, she fractured a bone. After that, we learned she had luxating patellas (in both knees). Then, elbow dysplasia.

She is now 4 surgeries in, on her knees, elbows, and most recently to take a pin out of her knee that had migrated. This would have cost us close to $!2,000, all of which Healthy Pets has covered. Without them, we would have been in serious financial straits, as all of this happened during the pandemic, when my husband was out of work for 8 months.

I'm not a fan of everything Healthy Pets does. For example, unlike just about every single insurance company, they will not confirm whether something is covered until you submit a claim. I understand not wanting to make promises, but this is completely absurd and stressful. You should be able to submit a doctor's surgery estimate and get some kind of answer on whether it will be covered, all else being the same.

During year 1.5 of the pandemic, it also took them more than a month, with a lot of back-and-forth, to approve one of my claims.

But--despite the 3 surgeries at the time of the policy renewal, my insurance only went up about 3 dollars.

So, while I think people's complaints are probably valid and different owners have varied experiences, mine have been great, and I will always use Healthy Pets for the first couple of years at least with a new pup.

I knocked off one star because I'd like them to address the problem of not approving procedures in advance. When you're considering whether to have a surgery and shopping around for doctors, this is necessary info and there is zero justification for not doing this.

"Disreputable Company"

What a terrible company! We signed up to get our dog's supplements on a subscription basis. We ordered one bottle (one!) per month. But the second month, they shipped (and charged me for) two bottles. These were expensive supplements, over $70 a bottle, so there was a bit of sticker shock.

I was upset, and decided to contact them to get the problem sorted out. I contacted them by email, but got no response. After waiting a few days, I contacted them by chat. I told the person what happened and asked that my subscription be fully canceled. He said no problem.

Sure. The next month, I received the subscription again. Fuming, I sat down and chatted with someone who was less than friendly. She also said she fixed the problem, but this time sent me an email confirmation. When I said I did not want to pay for this mistake--on their part, she said I'd have to pay to ship the products back to them. I asked that they send me a return mailing label. She replied that they would...but they never did.

I would not recommend doing business with Healthy Pets and I am going to file a complaint with the BBB as well.

"Still Waiting"

I received my package within a timely manner. However, I have requested a return service and have yet to receive my return-shipping label. I've checked my email consistently for 3 days and haven't gotten it. The reason for my return is because my veterinarian said oat-baths will not work on my cat's severe skin condition.
