"Do not buy a car from Mahiem"
Do not buy a car from Mahiem, puchased a car, there surecheck fee was paid said the car was all clear, got the car and its been wrecked, recorded with motorcheck its been wrote off but as there experian hpi says it hasnt thats it, they wiped there hands of it, avoid at all costs. Selling damaged cars and not recording them as damaged.

"The ultimate back street rogue traders…"
The ultimate back street rogue traders hiding behind a big name. Don’t waste your time. Offer a great price to lure you in and then reduce by more than 10% when their person visits - nothing to do with car condition. Sold the car a week later for the correct market value to a reputable dealer

"…The Maria Askey experience"
Sold my vehicle today to Manheim.Maria Askey the assessor was very professional but still remained a real person and a delight to deal with and everyone was happy.

"Another dodgy buying company"
1 Star for the polite agent inspecting the vehicle. But avoid this scam.
Initial Autotrader offer of £44383 and my car was better than reported, this was confirmed by the agent. After inspection however, they revised the offer by £838 less for ONE tiny 5mm stone chip.
They have yet to reply to my email asking for the justification.
Autotrader claim they will not haggle if the vehicle matches the description, which mine did EXACTLY. This makes a reputable site like Autotrader look rather dodgy.
Never again, what a waste of time
Update - Thanks for the standard reply below, I emailed yesterday so we'll see just how honest you really are.
Update 2 - Still no reply to my 2 emails and a message left on their contact page, and still no return calls. Am I surprised, not at all. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

"Just an update on my previous complaint…"
Just an update on my previous complaint against this company.
In April 2023 I made a formal FOI request to the company my request was being attended to by Mr Sands.
Well a few months has now elapsed so a blatant disregard to the a data request.
This company operates on a very fine line between honesty and what could be described as malpractice.
So if your reading this review ‘Please realise this Company has no intention of offering you a free valuation of your vehicle.’

"Positive experience"
I had a good experience with this company. The assessor was clear at all times and fair in his evaluation. Yes it was less than the on line valuation but he is a professional assessor and I am not. Most people, including me, will big up the condition of their car because they do not know how to assess the condition for a retail sale. This does not mean that Manheim are necessarily profiteers or 'scammers' - this is grossly misleading and unfair. If you are open and honest about your car's condition the offer will remain firm. Sometimes the assessor actually increases the offer because the seller is too pessimistic about the condition.

"Be very wary."
Nothing wrong with the person looking over the car who was extremely polite but having declared one very small stone chip on the bonnet the offer price dropped by nearly £500. Clearly policy is to offer reasonable amount online and then hope seller is desperate enough to accept much lower price. Decided to keep mine!

"Avoid Manheim"
Manheim (via Auto Trader) make an online offer for your car, then send someone along who finds unreasonable fault with your vehicle. The two tiny faults that they somehow found were then costed at a crazy price of £440 to enable them to reduce the offer. A one inch surface scratch and a little bit of alloy wheel damage do not cost £440 to fix. This is a swindle and a waste of your time. Don't deal with them.

"Ridiculous policies"
The company sent someone out to look at the vehicle, unfortunately we'd left a light on and the battery had died so the appointment was rebooked - we recharged the battery and got the vehicle working and had four different people at manheim confirm that there would be no problem buying the car.
When we were supposed to have our next appointment they called to say that they wouldn't buy the car because they needed a mechanic to fix the battery and provide a certificate proving this had been done. As the battery is charged and the car works, no mechanic will look at the car because there's nothing wrong with it - they've all said manheim don't know what they're talking about and there isn't a certificate they could give us for it.
The sales rep was lovely, as were the phone operators, but the company has the most ridiculous policies I can think of.
