without doubt the most incompetent and dare i say dodgy insurance comopany ive ever dealt with , they charged my card twice for insurance with no notice and then charged me a fee to cancel the insurance even before it was live, luckily i spotted the scam

"Making more money out of new policy cancellation fees than commision for setting up policy "

I took out a new policy with Sterling Insurance, one of the trading names of Adrian Flux, online 3 weeks before the commencement date and had to cancel the policy a few days later due to "query on proposal information", well within the 14 day cooling off period and even before the policy took effect but was charged £87.50 cancelation fee despite FCA rules that customers have 14 days to cancel without penalty and with a full refund.
This is the second time this has happened with Adrian Flux, previously with Bikesure, another Adrian Flux trading name, there was again "a query about proposal information" and reason to cancel the policy within 14 days and befor commencement date and again a cancellation charge.

"Avoid at all costs – denied my legal rights and left me uninsured"

In 2022, I had one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever faced with this company. After taking out an insurance policy, I attempted to cancel it within the legal 14-day cooling-off period, as is my right under UK consumer law. Instead of processing the cancellation properly, their agent refused to honour my statutory rights and cancelled the policy without my consent.

To make matters worse, they failed to provide the required 7 days’ notice before cancellation, leaving me uninsured and stranded, unable to legally drive or move my car. This wasn’t just unprofessional – it was unlawful and potentially dangerous.

They later claimed there was a “misrepresentation,” but gave no clear explanation, and still took my money. No opportunity to correct the issue, no support, just a flat-out cancellation with no accountability.

I spoke to both Citizens Advice and a solicitor, and both confirmed the company was in the wrong. I’ve never felt so ignored, mistreated, and misled by a business that’s supposed to be regulated and trustworthy.

To this day, they’ve done nothing to properly address what happened or take responsibility.

Be warned: if anything goes wrong with your policy, don’t expect fair treatment or legal compliance. Absolutely shocking service.
