My kitchen light went of a week ago. I looked everywhere to get the rare made fluorescent tube to replace it but I have been told that it is not in the market anymore. When I asked for it to be changed to a proper ceiling light she said I need a letter from doctor to prove that is not good for us. I have no light in the kitchen. When I called for repair today they gave me appointment THE QuiCKEST ONE!!!! for 11th April 2025. When I asked what and how I should cook in dark she said you can buy yourself a floor lamp. I am fuming and I am so sorry to have a landlord like them who doesnt really care

"Onongoing repairs"
Ongoing repairs where to start. I report I had some broken tiles in my cupboard in hallway and in a storage cupboard in my bedroom suspected asbestos , also mould on a artexed ceiling in the bathroom. Rang onward homes who said there would be someone out to access it within a week. No one came till 3/12/25 to test the tiles and aertex ceilings, then nothing, till January when somebody came out to treat the bathroom ceiling with no mention of the broken tiles and that they need sealing and covering over I work in construction so know what should be done with them. In between all this happening my boiler stopped working the week in between Christmas and New year and to date this still has not been repaired, Onward sent someone out a few weeks ago and they said they needed to order a part for it heard nothing more. Then one evening just before 21:00pm 21/01/25 another gas engineer turns up saying he had been sent out on an emergency, I asked if he had the part that had been ordered by the first gas engineer he said no? when he looked at the boiler he said it didn't need a part and that it was a pipe leading to the boiler that needed replacing and that he would report it. On the 7/01/2025 at 8:00am Onward sent someone out to assess what needs doing in the flat wasn't made aware that they were coming out. I was aware that day a gas engineer was coming to fix the pipe and heating which didn't end up happening Onward sent a joiner out to take the cupboard and kitchen sink out so they could gain access to the pipe and was told it would be the next week before the gas engineer would be out to do the repair??. Why and to leave me without a sink to wash up in. On the 12/02/2025 I received a phone call to say that someone had come to repair the heating but couldn't gain access at 1:00pm this is an absolute lie as there was someone in and they hadn't even rang the buzzer to my flat as they are all clearly marked with the flat numbers. Now been told they will be out on the 4/3/2025 if they bother to turn up as if they give you an afternoon appointment they never do turn up over 2 months with no heating absolute joke.
I also reported my bathroom light is not working this is an internal bathroom with no window was told it would be repaired 27/03/2025. My partner asked one of the onward repair men to look at it who was at another property 20/02/2025, as the concern is its health and safety issue due to it being an internal bathroom with no light at all. The repair man had a look at the light and said it needed a new light fitting as its been poorly fitted, but that they can't put a new light fitting in due to the aertex ceiling which will have to be completely taken out before they can put the new light fitting in. the Onward repair man has put a temporary light bulb in for now . I am sick of ringing onward and nothing being done. I want to know when all my repairs will be resolved and I am contacting Housing Ombudsman and also a solicitor

"New tenant left without heating and no explanation "
I moved into a new property 3 weeks ago today, the gas turn on and test was a massive fail, I had partial heating in two small radiators.
Two weeks later, 10 + cancelled engineer callouts later, and the engineer tells me the boiler needs a new heat cell and he recommends a new boiler; he failed to mention before he left he was leaving me with no heating at all or an explanation as to why.
That was 6 working days ago and the standard of service Onward Homes could provide in that time was to deliver 2 electric heaters to my flat.
Carey at Onward offered the opinion that I'm saving money on my gas meter while the boiler isn't working..
A manager whose name I've forgotten told me it's not an emergency repair because I still have warm water and can bathe..
Howard, who I've met in person and signed the tenancy with, didn't return a phone call as agreed earlier in the same day and told me via email Onward Homes would not credit my electric meter to reimburse expenses I've incurred; at Onward homes fault, to put it in a compaint and that my own income more than covers the extra expense!
Today, 17.2 a qualified engineer has got the heating on and tells me the heat cell is fine.
Totally ruined moving home. Heating is a basic requirement.
A formal complaint is in progress.

Every time we book a repair in they say he will be there .
When you ring up to find out where they are you get told they have run out of time yet you have a 8/1 appointment time.
Today 8.05am text saying on my way 17.00 pm Sammy.S didn't turn up
He went to another housing association house and then instead of seeing he was at the wrong property just drove off and to make it worse puts down he's been and done the job .
Utter crap repair team ever .
Wouldn't let them tie a knot in a rope but we have to let these cowboys in to our homes.

Laziest landlord i have ever had the misfortune to deal with...If repairs need doing then do them yourself because these people will send a roofer to do a joiners job.These people are pathological liars and control freaks who think they are above everyone when reality is half of them need sectioning.They claim to be experts but they haven't got a clue.If you have electrical faults and need an engineer because your sockets are over heating and sparking they will just ignore you forcing you to try and fix it yourself...they don't give a shit and will blame everyone else for their mistakes.They need seriously putting under investigation by the charities commission and police.

Been with onward homes for 4 years and they are a absolute shambles of a housing association. They seem to employ liars and have no interest at all on maintaining there properties yet are quick enough to hound people for bedroom tax / rent arrears. The sooner I find alternative accommodation the better. Anyone thinking of accepting a property from onward homes don't even bother as they are a absolute disgrace of a housing association. They should not even be allowed to operate as a housing association in my opinion.

Onward homes have got to be the worst landlords i and a lot of people i know have ever dealt with .2 sides of a4 paper full of repairs onward will just ignore you or a workman will come out look say i can not do that they have sent wrong person or i need my boss to sign off on job first and no one comes back .I have just got a solicitor 10 years ive lived here only improvements is new front door with bits now coming
off. Onward please do not reply back.
