"50Cycles deal in high quality electric…"
50Cycles deal in high quality electric bikes.
Its not easy making decisions about a personal thing like a bike online, but ask them questions-they want you to be happy, and they will patiently help a newbie.
Bikes are delivered fully checked, and take minutes to adjust before you are off for a run.
Sign up for emails if you are still shopping around, to hear about new stock, sales (in advance), or to chat about possible options.
It's easy to be a good company when everything goes smoothly, you only find out how good they really are when something needs to be resolved.
These guys are on to any problem or request like wolves on a wounded elk. You always know who you are talking to, and information is passed on for an fast answer if it can't be resolved immediately.
If you are thinking that cycling is something that was fun in your distant youth, then you've never been on a decent electric bike- our home territory in the Galloway hills has been mysteriously flattened? I just did a five mile run in Scottish rain, through wind, in November, and had a grin on my face as I flew up a long hill that felt like torture in the summer on a conventional bike.

"Excellent company and service"
I bought an electric bike from this company. After phoning several retailers I contacted 50 cycles and was impressed with their knowledge and enthusiasm for the bikes.
Living 80 miles away from them I journeyed up to see the bike and was very impressed with their service and expertise in the electric bike market.
Having bought the bike and taken it home they contacted me and arranged a home visit for the bikes first service.
All the staff I encountered from sales to mechanics were very experienced and knowledgeable.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone who wants to purchase an electric bike.

"Excellent service and communication"
I bought 2 ebikes from the Bristol store (now sadly closed)one of which had a problem which was resolved under warranty and throughout the process the communication and service from Dave the service manager was excellent and could not be faulted, I would recommend anyone considering an ebike to go to 50 cycles for the knowledge, backup and overall range to choose from. Keep up the good work.

"We bought a brace of toba beat bikes…"
We bought a brace of toba beat bikes back in april of this year. Prime reason for going electric was arthritis of the hips which put paid to walking or regular cycling ( no longer able to get on or off a bike with a cross bar ). Having a step through frame and plenty of assistance from the motor has been brilliant and I have clocked up over 2000 happy miles .
There were a couple of niggles with the bike but David the mechanic at the loughborough branch has been very helpful in getting everything sorted.( thank you David )
Would have given 5 stars but I found the process of trying to speak to someone in the office frustrating as messages would only be passed on by an independant receptionist in the hope that someone might return the call.

"Delivered to home"
Delivered to home, and arrived when requested, have used the bike several times and am really pleased with it...

"Reliability nightmares"
It is literally a disaster buying anything that says "Kalkhoff" on it from 50Cycles. We have two Kalkhoff bikes via 50Cycles, both costing just under £2,000 when new, now both write-offs unless we pay £600 each for replacement motors. One bike has 4,000 miles on the clock, one has done just 2,000.
Laughably, we were told by 50Cycles that the problem with one bike was because we live near the sea where it rains, as apparently it's our fault that the motors are not adequately waterproofed. You'd think that if bikes weren't allowed to be owned by people who live near the sea the company would not have a sizeable showroom in Shoreham-BY-SEA.
We were also told we obviously weren't storing the bike properly, which is a bafflingly rude thing to hear. We love bikes so much we had a shed built to store all our bikes. It has six bikes in it at the moment, if you include the two broken Kalkhoffs doing nothing more than getting in the way, and only these two Kalkhoffs are knackered beyond use because of our location and/or the regional air, funnily enough.
Our other Kalkhoff just stopped working after months of the motor making clunking noises and displaying increasingly erratic performance, and one successful, but short-lived fix arranged by the supplier.
I do feel slightly sorry for 50Cycles in having to clear up the mess made by these abysmal Impulse motors as it seems every single Kalkhoff owner has had a reliability nightmare with the bike's unreliable motors; but the company should have "owned" the problem and not, in our case, tried to wiggle out of it by saying we probably just dumped the bike in the garden over winter and we happen to live near the sea so it's actually all our fault.
Oh, and they've blocked me on Twitter today for highlighting poor reviews.
