"Ordered a top in 2 sizes and returned…"

Ordered a top in 2 sizes and returned the size that is not suitable. They have received my return 3 weeks ago (as per the tracking information) but have not yet actioned the refund. Every time I contacted them they hide behind Brexit as the cause for the delay and send an automated email that it is taking long time to process refunds, which is not acceptable considering they have received the item 3 weeks ago. Very disappointing indeed. I had to escalate to PayPal for action. UK customers, please be aware and stay clear.

Update post the reply from Alpine Trek below: Unfortunately, their reply is a perfect example of the automated messages they have been sending me!
Item received by them 2nd Feb, and up to today (21/2/25) I have not received the refund. Brexit is not the reason, but the inefficiency of their processes is!

"DREADFUL COMPANY "

DO NOT under any circumstances order anything from this company. The customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. I ordered a jacket which was never delivered, I questioned this with them and they said I’d returned the jacket to them and have to wait for customs to process it!! It had never even been delivered to me. They have ignored numerous emails from me and the guy on the telephone was incredibly rude. I am now in the process of opening a claim with my bank. They are masquerading as a UK company when in fact they are based in Germany. It’s a totally incompetent organisation with dodgy delivery and returns.

So I would steer clear. It’s been very stressful to say the least!!

Was abit weary of ordering from alpinetrek due to being a .co.uk site but not based in the uk. However they do have a UK based returns centre.

I requested to cancel my order, however the item had already been despatched. First the first time from any company had they said they can process a return to sender when item was in transit. Which meant I had none of the hassle of returning.

This was a very pleasant surprise and happy to leave a positive review based on my experience.

Totally untrustworthy company from start to finish. I ordered their false pretences that they are a uk based company?! Why else would they use the domain name alpinetrek.co.uk ?!I ordered a size 12 presuming I would receive a uk 12 boot . I received a us 12
I was told this is what was advertised! Why would you list a product in us shoes sizes, if you’re a uk shopping website?! I had to return the boots to Aylesbury ! Which was delivered in 2 days . I checked tracking and sent a message about my refund.and was told the boots would have to be returned to their company in Germany and must clear customs before I could be refunded! Would take 21 days. And after 3 weeks still no refund. I luckily paid through PayPal and so opened a dispute. And behold ! I received a message the next morning confirming they had received the return and they refunded me ! Only when I opened a PayPal dispute! Avoid this company ! Should you need to return an item , you could be waiting months or need to have a PayPal account

Items are shipped from EU but payment by PayPal (covered) will ease any hesitation.

Ordered evening 28th Jan, Dispatched 30th Jan & arrived 06th Feb (Evri rescheduled delivery from 05th Feb. This is within their acceptable stated delivery timescale.

Price paid & selection (colour way) was well worth a couple of days extra delivery wait compared to UK based item location.
