Good range of products and very responsive customer service. Unfortunately the delivery time is slow. It wasn’t clear to me that the items actually come from outside the UK. Also returning an item is a very slow process. I’m still waiting for a refund. Unfortunately this puts me off ordering again.

Sadly, the colour of the dress is very different from the online photo.
It appears a honey colour whereas in reality, it's a dirty Khaki colour.
Disappointing because the style and merino fabric are lovely. I will now have to go thru the hassle of returning it.

I purchased an Amundsen jumper for my partner for Xmas. He discovered a small hole in the back when went to wear it so I tried to find out how to return it. This is when it started to become inexplicably difficult and complicated. It was unclear from Alpine Trek's website how best to deal with this issue. I found it difficult to get through on the phone but eventually did and found out that even though it says on Amundsen's website that they do repair items, Alpine Trek only offered two options, refund or replacement. (I wanted the jumper repaired, for sustainability reasons.) So (after some back and forth which took far too long on their side), I sent the jumper to them for a refund on 31st Jan. I've been waiting since then and have heard nothing. I called and was told that the person I was speaking to could not help me (!) and that I'd have to reply to the original e-mail thread. I did this, and received a reply in German that did not make sense to me when translated. I've tried calling again twice and both times have had a message saying that everyone's out of the office on an away day. I've tried e-mailing again and received another confusing message in German.
I'm very frustrated and would just like the refund please!!!

When purchasing online from overseas, can result in uncertainty over shipping/customs - however the email communication about the progress of the order were friendly and human influence rather than plain computer. Very enjoyable experience and would happily recommend and subsequently use again myself when appropriate.

Delivery timeframes are not clear when ordering. It's not UK company and at no point during the order process is this stated. Their delivery timeframe is the processing timeframe. They do not account for customs and postage timeframe in the "guaranteed" delivery dates. Therefore delivery timeframes are completely false advertising. Day 7 and counting, the item hasnt been received by the courier according to tracking.

I recently criticised Alpinetrek here, because it seemed they had gone silent and ignored a warranty claim I had made.
I have since heard from them; they have apologised for having accidentally deleted my claim and have now offered a refund as a solution. That is a good solution for me and no need to apologise, mistakes happen.
Also, I am delighted I was wrong - I had some really bad experience with online retailers lately and it's good to know Alpinetrek is still a good place to order from. Thank u!
