4th Utility

"4th Utility broadband"
Absolutely satisfied with the quick and easy purchase and organisation of a new broadband connection. Liam was really professional and made the whole experience very simple and quick.

"Worst Internet company I have ever come across…1"
Worst Internet company I have ever cone across. Installed in December, worked OK for a few weeks now none of our devices will work even though they say they are connected. If your ring these fools you will be on hold for 2 hours then the lines goes dead. Ring the sales and they answer in 3 seconds. You get lies upon lies and the service is diabolical. The worst broadband providers on earth.

"Clear and effective "
Ravi was clear, effective and accommodating. Never felt misunderstood or not listened too during the whole installation. Any potential issues where brought to my attention and clarified if needed.

"Switch process was smooth"
I recently switched from VM to 4th Utility and the experience was excellent. Cole guided me through the entire process on WhatsApp, answering all my questions quickly and clearly. I’d heard great things about 4th Utility, and they definitely lived up to the hype—smooth transition and great customer service.

"Lying company that can't hold any end of their contract"
4th Utility is by far the worst company I've had the misfortune of dealing with. Save yourself the stress, the reason their prices are cheap is because they can't actually deliver on what's promised. Everyone I delt with at the company was either incompetent or would straight up lie to my face.
Even though when checking on their website if we were eligible for fibre optic, when the 1st engineer came round, they said we needed to have the front garden of our rented place dug up to install the cable. Clearly the website was lying as a way of getting us through the door.
When we said we're unable to do this, the engineer left without any further help, eventually I had to call again to get a 2nd person out 10 days afterwards who said they didn't actually need to dig up anything, and wasn't sure why the 1st person lied to us.
Once it was installed, the 2nd person said there was an issue with the cable in the road, and it'd be fixed in 2 days. After 5 days I phoned up to check on the status of this issue and saw that no one ever put the request through, and then told it was another 10 days before it gets fixed.
After 12 days, I phoned up again and told it'd be another 3 days because "something went wrong" but they refused to go into any detail.
Finally after nearly a month of delays they fixed the issue in the road, only to then supply us with a broken WiFi router that wouldn't connect to anything wirelessly. When I phoned up about this, they suggested it was my fault for breaking it, however, this was set up by their engineers and not touched since.
During this whole saga, they refused to accept that any of this was their fault, and rather kept blaming CityFiber saying they were the ones at fault and if I had any issues I should take it up with them. They never offered any workaround like a 5g router or to go onto a copper connection in the interim even though in their contract it states they'll "look for alternate ways to help." Several times I was told I'd be called back only to be ignored or hung up on.
And even though they promised on several occasions to provide compensation they've not done so and keep auto closing any complain I rase to try and chase this up.
Honestly just go with someone else, 4th Utility are clearly not capable of providing any type of service, and their customer support is disgusting at best. You're better of just throwing away the money.

"Avoid -- internet down for days"
I'm experiencing total service loss for more than 24 hours now.
If that was not bad enough, it took me hours to get to speak to someone, who didn't have any more details on the incident anyway, and no timeline on when it'll be resolved.
To add insult to injury I can't reach anyone to cancel my service -- I've been on their phone lines for hours.
Having downtime occasionally is excusable, but the fact that it's impossible to speak to anyone, and especially when that is required to cancel your service, is not.

"They’re cheap for a reason"
They’re cheap for a reason. Tried to cancel my broadband as I was moving out. Only option is to call, and no one ever answered the phone. They suggest sending a form on the voicemail, which I did twice, and had no response. Eventually just had to cancel the direct debit myself and hope it will be ok.
Our internet was fine, but they are awful to get hold of since the beginning, never respond to emails and never answering the phone. The installation process took all day (I waited all day and he turned up at 6pm) and he had to drill holes in the wall etc, and it took ages! When we had Vodafone, they just posted a box which we plugged in, which was much easier!

"4th utility worst Broadband ever! There is better out there. "
The actual fibre broadband service is shocking bad! The broadband doesn’t work as it should. The kids can’t play there consoles because it is very glitchy. Could be watching a move the signal just drops off and freeze the film. This happens every day and can last over an hour. DONT USE 4th Utility. Me my brother and mother wanted to be on the same provider! They messed up my mother order by sending me her rooted to my address. They over charged my brother.
