I would NOT recommend API.
Their customer service is worse than awful. If you need to contact them...forget it. They never ever answer the phone. So you email them. This is just as bad. They barely get back to you. So, I decided to escalate my issue to the MD as I was being ignored.
No reply on both attempts at requesting these details. In the end I've given up, without a satisfactory resolution.
Save yourself the hassle and shop somewhere that cares about their customers. This company does not!

"Poor Engineer Experience"
I had a Rolec charge point fitted by API Electrical in September 2019. This developed a fault recently by which it appeared offline and would not emit a charge.
As I deem the charger as specialist equipment my first thought was to contact API for help.
After some time an engineer visit was arranged with an associated call out fee of £96.
The engineer arrived on the agreed date, but unfortunately that is the end of the positives.
The engineer looked at the unit and confirmed it was not operational, however did nothing further to resolve the issue than call Rolec and the associated app supplier (ev.energy). He complained they were unhelpful and declared as the unit was out of warranty it would need replacing.
At no point did he add any value in diagnosing the problem or suggesting any solution. Equally he did not suggest any potential component changes despite the fact that a number of "common" faults are known that can be resolved this way.
The following day I decided to contact ev.energy myself who I found to be extremely helpful and with minimal effort resolved the charger connection issues which in turn enabled the unit to charge my car successfully.
I have paid the £96 charge as this represented a call out charge, however I would expect the engineer to have had a level of expertise / knowledge to attempt to resolve the issue in a meaningful way.
I raised my concerns to API Electrical who provided the following in response (quoted as is):

AS requested, he called to site to see if he could rectify the issue you was having with your charger.
He reported the system wouldn’t connect to wifi or even show up on anything.
The did check the unit, connections etc and there was no obvious fault. For example, if there is a common fault it normally would show a burnt connection or fault with the RCD or similar.
He did try speaking to Rolec but found they were no use whatso ever. He tried to reset the charger which didn’t work, and all the internals seemed fine.

Not withstanding that the unit does not actually communicate via wi-fi, but rather by a mobile connection I find the response as unsatisfactory as the service I received.
I, as someone with no knowledge or expertise, managed to resolve the issue by making a quick call, yet a supposed qualified engineer could not manage this.
I will not be utilising the services of API Electrical again due to this extremely poor experience.

"Don't expect aftercare"
We had our charger fitted 3 years 2 months ago by API. I contacted recently as the charger had started to trip when charging. (Previous similar issue occurred a couple of years ago). Originally, I spoke to Jill about the issue and she contacted Ohme. I was informed I was out of warranty and would have to pay for someone to come out if needed. That was fine.
Ohme didn't have anything on their logs to suggest the charger, I emailed Jill back and agreed to pay and have somebody come to review the issue as I have long commutes and need to charge daily. With 2 EVs in the household, we are reliant on the charger (and was looking for a second). The charger then completely died.
Emailed API again and got an out of office reply. Tried calling the office numerous times over different days to see if anyone else was there as the out of office was for more than a week. No answer. Left voicemails, no return call. Emailed the "urgent" contact from the out of office, no reply. 3 weeks later and they should have been back according to their out of office 2 weeks ago, but still nobody has contacted or replied to my emails or voicemails.
The original experience may have been good, but aftercare is terrible. And the company is clearly dependent on one person and shuts down if they are not there, so be careful not to need help when they go on holiday.
I was looking for a second charger to be installed for the second car, but was left without any. Wouldn't go anywhere near API again. Have now gone with Ascent Energy and can't fault the experience. Everything managed straight away, new charger installed and issues resolved.
