These people keep charging my credit cards although I never have specifically asked to sign up with them. Be on the lookout for small details when you buy anything that may automatically be signing you up. The only reason they got 1 star is that I couldn't give them zero

I just found a review from someone stating the exactly same situation I’ve been through the past week.
It says "I’ve been a loyal member of ShopSmarter.com since 2022. However, recently my experience with this company has been incredibly frustrating. At the end of 2024, I purchased some items and was notified I had to submit receipts for cashback via their customer service email. After doing so, shortly after, I found myself unable to log into my account—it had been closed without any explanation.
I’ve spent weeks trying to resolve this issue. After numerous emails with no response, I started calling their customer service. Every representative I spoke to apologized and assured me my account should be reinstated and it was wrong. Despite their promises, nothing has been done. I’ve called four times now speaking with reps who submit requests for me and my account remains inaccessible with no updates or refund even though I paid for the membership.
It’s disappointing that a company I trusted would treat a long-time customer this way. The lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable. I’m posting this review in hopes that ShopSmarter.com will address this issue, reinstate my account, and restore my faith in their service.
Until then, I can’t recommend this service to others.

Coincidence or not, it happened to me right after I made a large purchase. We're renovating our new house and I have appliances, flooring and all kinds of material to get before the job starts next week. As soon I placed my 1st order at best buy for a 3.9k wall oven they started denying my access and also canceling my account with no explanation. After calling the customer service, sending emails and receipts I finally got access to my account. For a day. I placed a second order, 6k+ at home depot for flooring and I'm still waiting for someone to reply my several emails which included the 2nd purchase receipt and a note explaining that we're buying material and appliances for a new house and how time sensitive it is for us to be able to place the orders in time for the contractors... nothing. It's been 4 days with no access and no reply from any of the people I've been talking to since epsode one. We already placed 2 more orders above 1k at home depot without using their website because we had to and I wonder if their silence is on purpose. My Shopsmarter account is 5 years old and I've spent months without using their service but I never stopped paying the 9, now 16 dolars subscription because I knew we're buying a house at some point and it'd be worthy. And now this is happening and I'd love to hear shopsmarter response about how they neglect their clients rights and needs imposing arbitrary procedures denying acces for a service they charge us big dollars to use WHENEVER WE WANT OR HAVE TO.

My issue was finally resolved after stating that I would cancel my membership. My dispute was that they would not grant my 10% rebate since I used external coupons. What I used was company earned rewards dollars which to me is not external. I earned those points/rewards dollars through prior purchases therefore that shouldn't matter. I get the rebates on sale price items so what's the difference.
