"bankrupt - new ownership - severe cost cutting - expensive return fees - bad experience"
Scotch & Soda went bankrupt and in May they were taken over by a brand consolidator called "Bluestar Alliance". They are still selling clothes as "Scotch & Soda" but all of their business practices have changed - the physical stores are closing, you cannot return online purchases for free anywhere - they don't give you a return label and you also can't take the stuff back to a store (even if the store is still open). It's a horrible shopping experience, to have no idea if something will fit well or not, and then pay a huge sum to return it.
The website has subtly changed over to a new ecommerce platform and they have subtly changed a lot of the text that used to appear on their returns policy - BE CAREFUL IF YOU HAVE BEEN A LONG TIME CUSTOMER - THERE IS NO WARNING ANYWHERE ABOUT THE NEW RULES.
I returned a package 3 weeks ago and they seemed to have lost it. If the refund doesn't come today I will just dispute the charge on my credit card.
Unfortunately this experience means that I have to stop buying Scotch & Soda clothes, which is very disappointing and frustrating to me, because I have loved these clothes for years and a significant portion of my wardrobe is from this brand.
But these nasty new business practices are unacceptable.
This brand consolidator did the same thing to other brands, like Hurley - which Nike used to own - and now you will notice on the Hurley site, there is no way to return things without costly fees, etc. This is their business model.

Bestelling geplaatst, niks ontvangen. Bij telefonisch contact krijg je te horen dat er geen bestelling is binnengekomen. Schermafbeeldingen gestuurd van bestel bevestiging en betaling via iDeal, moet er een onderzoek worden gestart. Ik ben bang dat mijn geld weg is maar ik mijn bestelde kleding ook op mijn buik kan schrijven.

Kaufe seit Jahren die Kleidung weil mir der Stil gefällt aber bei (ausnahmslos) allen TShirts von S&C habe ich nach 6 Monaten Löcher unter den Armen wobei TShirt die ich seit 5 Jahren habe von anderen Marken keine Probleme machen. Verarbeitung scheint mangelhaft zu sein

J'en ai fait la remarque au service clientèle, capture écran à l'appui, et le lendemain les mentions avaient disparues, sans prendre en charge ma demande.
Je me sens "utilisé" dans un moment comme celui, et je n'ai plus confiance en la marque.

"Horrible Service"
Their policies and customer service communication are very frustrating. They do not allow you to return clothes in the store, and I spent $23 to mail the items back. Customer Service claimed that this policy was always in place, but the workers at the store said it was a new rule. I am fairly certain they then lost my return which was valued at $266, so I lost $300 in this process. This company is going through a change in leadership and are clearly unorganized. Employees did not help me resolve this or take any ownership for the issue.
