I like buying from Adorama and it's safe to do so. They've got cool stuff and frequently at a good discount, plus they ship quickly w/o any excuses. I've only had a couple cust svc events and it went well except for messing around their phone system and getting to a rep. But, I keep coming back and I feel you should, too - they're legit.

Before i start i want to apologies for the length of this review, but i feel it's important to get a little context as to why i have rated Adorama 1 star. On the 27th of December 2024 i placed an order with Adorama for an HP T210 wide format printer. I had previously gotten some quotes to do some 24"X84" color printing from Staples and decided it would be less expensive and more controllable if i did my own printing thereby saving time and a considerable amount of money. Adorama advertised a used printer in excellent condition with just a damaged box. No problem, the printer was stated to be in excellent condition which was what was important. I paid $478.00 including shipping and waited for the printer to arrive.
Approximately 7 days later UPS delivered the parcel, the driver, noting and reporting the appalling condition of the package. It was severely damaged and someone had cut a rectangle hole on the side of the box. Upon opening the box i found almost all of the original styrofoam was missing and no attempt had been made to add or replace the material to aid in the safe transportation of the printer. The printer was just left to slide back and forth in the cardboard box. Upon further inspection i found that all the peripherals, sample inks, power cables and manual to be missing, without these i had no way of testing to see if the printer was still in working order in view of the horrendously inadequate packing. I contacted the online customer service department and waited 2 days for a response. I was told the missing parts would be sent out and i received them about 5 days later. Opening this package i found that Adorama had sent not only the sample ink, cables and manual but also the main print head which i was unaware was missing from the machine ( the machine was tape closed which indicated it to be in unopened condition?). The supplied print head was again extremely poorly packaged and ink had leaked out covering the entire unit in what i believe was black ink, some of which had dried into small hard clumps. Just handling the part covered my fingers with ink and it was obviously unusable. I again contacted the CS department and again waited 2 days to get a response. I was told they had no way of replacing the print head but offered a $45 refund. Bear in mind a replacement HP head for this printer costs $299.00 add that to the $478 i had already paid and you have a cost of some $777, ( A brand new HP T210 cost just $599 on Amazon and HPs website) By this time weeks had past and i still had no way of testing out the machine, HP informed me that these printers all come with the print head installed so this machine was probably used as a parts printer being cannibalized to service other machines ?
I asked the CS department to refund the full amount to my account and pick up the unusable printer. Again i waited 5 days until UPS picked up the printer by which time i had spent considerable time to repack the printer with extra materials to ensure it got back to them in one piece, something they initially failed to to do, I even repaired the hole that had been cut in the side of the box and used a complete roll of 2" tape to secure the box. It arrived back to their TX warehouse on the 16th Jan 2025 and despite an assurance of a refund within 7 business days it took 11 days and further e-mails. Even then they had removed the cost of return shipping some $68.84. I again had to contact CS to get them to refund the shipping costs despite my initial request for a full refund! Today Jan 31st 2025, PayPal informed me that the shipping costs had been refunded some 36 days from placing the original order.
After this fiasco i will never ever do business with this company and will be posting similar reviews on my YouTube channels web sites and many other review sites. I have always made a practice of taking screen captures and photographing all purchases over $100.00 keeping all related e-mails and recording all related phone calls (Maine is a one party state) And have found this practice to be extremely useful in instances such as this. Again sorry for the log review but as you can see dealing with Adorama is a torturous experience at best, thank goodness for Amazons 2 day delivery's

Just read the reply below from ADORAMA ! And as expected it amounts to I'm sorry. I'm sorry I considered purchasing from their company. What can you do to make this right? Send me a free HPT210 or 230 that would go some way to proving you care about your customers experience ! Take the cost of the free printer out of the associates salary who packed the initial unit and the person who uploaded the website description of that printer. I won't hold my breath !

Trading my used gear was easy to process and the pre-paid mailing labels were a welcome feature. The prices they quoted were a bit lower than I expected being less than half of the price of similar gear on Ebay. Adorama needs to make money though and I didn't want the hassle of selling it myself, so...
The immediate e-transfer to my bank was a great finish.
I've been a long-time buyer at Adorama though and have always been satisfied with prices and service.

Jack Gold treated me fairly and negotiated with me to an acceptable price. Sent me a check that I received within 3 days. Here is the thing. Jack can come across as all business and seem a little abrasive. But once I told him the reason for my sale he came up on his offer and I was pleased. Look I am certain he is extremely busy and if you can appreciate that then all in all it is a good experience.
