"AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!"
AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! Since Shfit4 have taken over Revel Systems Inc we have been slapped with so many charges. The latest one is a monthly fee per location for not using Shift 4's payment processor. Even though we are signed to the previous merchant that Revel approved! We now are in the hole for a further £8k per annum to this company. They are not moving and I am taking this to the CMA. We have been a loyal customer for over 7 years and this is how they treat us.

"Don't waste your time or money"
Revel has gone so far downhill over the years that its hard to put into words. They were fine when we started with them 11 years ago but they have been bought and sold twice since then. Shift4 now owns them and they overpaid tremendously for what they purchased. That has now driven up the cost of the system in every facet in an attempt to recoup their investment.
Revel will charge you for EVERYTHING. In addition to the POS terminal subscription charges (which they will raise on your any time they want), if you want them to hold your sales data for over 1 year on their servers, you have to pay an extra monthly fee. They also began charging a $195/year "Annual Platform Fee" just because they wanted to. If you use them for CC processing, they charge you for month-end billing. They charge you a PCI compliance fee even if you are PCI compliant. They will also increase your CC merchant processing from time to time. Just got an email yesterday saying they were raising processing fees to .30% +.16¢/transaction. This was the second bump in the last year where they had previously set it to .25% + .13¢. The next day I got an email saying the POS terminal fees were also increasing by 4% due to "Due to ongoing inflationary costs". You know what those inflationary costs are? It's Shift4 getting duped into buying this company for the price they did.
I haven't even spoke on how bad their CS and tech support is. It's all offshore based so it's hard to understand their accents at times. There is a also a disconnect between what customer service says and merchant processing says. One will tell you one thing while the other will tell you something else.
The bottom line is stay away. Do not use them as a POS solution and definitely don't use them for a CC processing solution. I've since switch to Korona which is wonderful. Can't speak highly enough about them especially when compared to Revel.

"Endless list of grievances"
The list of grievances I have with Revel is to long to list. AVOID at all cost, as it will cost you a lot in $ and time and give you a major headache. Everything is always combative when trying to get customer support or an answer you get a continual run around. My monthly cost has gone from $130 AUD to around $500 AUD for no extra services, and the only explanation you get is in the terms and conditions we can charge whatever we want. They also make it really hard to cancel and get out. Be warned, stay away and theres plenty of better options out there. Also they're about to change their name to Shift4, so don't go for that either.

"POS must stand for piece of sh*t"
POS must stand for piece of sh*t
Their system is always crashing. Their help Center is actually a community of the people working against you. Every issue is 1-2 hours on the phone and they actually find ways to make your situation worse. It’s actually impressive how poorly they handle everything. They sent me the wrong card readers, helped us installed it for an hour and then they realized it was the wrong stuff. After that there was no going back and we didn’t have card readers for a week. They said they would overnight ship us what I needed but they didn’t have it in stock. So therefore I had to figure it out on my own. This happened during a week in which I had a sponsored event that had 35k put into it… in which I could not take in money. They did not care. Today my card readers randomly stopped working, they cannot figure it out so I have to pay for an IT company to come out and fix it. I’m done with this system as they simply do not care THAT WE RUN A BUSINESS AND THAT MEANS TAKING IN MONEY AS BUSINESSES DO.

"Beware of Hidden Contract Traps and Poor Service"
As a long-term user since 2017, investing nearly $1,000 monthly into Revel Systems, I feel obligated to share my harrowing experience with others considering this service. What began as a promising partnership has devolved into a nightmare of deceptive practices, egregious service failures, and relentless financial demands.
Deceptive Contract Renewals: Revel Systems employs a disturbingly deceptive tactic to extend contracts. A seemingly innocuous popup, which appeared during routine operations, was actually a contract renewal trap. Clicking on this popup unwittingly locked us into an additional three-year term, with no clear prior communication or consent. This tactic was neither outlined in any formal discussion nor mentioned in any renewal documentation. It's a clever ruse that preys on busy businesses, assuming consent through continued use of their services.
Unresolved Service Issues: Throughout our contract, Revel Systems consistently failed to deliver the reliable service they promised. We encountered daily disruptions, particularly with the POS and card payment processing systems, which significantly impacted our operations and customer service. Despite numerous complaints and attempts at resolution, the issues persisted, costing us not only time but also our reputation and peace of mind.
Exorbitant Cancellation Fees: After years of enduring substandard service, I decided to switch providers, only to be met with a staggering demand for $7,000 in cancellation fees. This fee is based on the underhanded contract renewal I was tricked into, a detail never properly disclosed or agreed upon.
Comparison with Current Provider: Since moving to a new provider, the difference in service quality has been night and day. Our new system works flawlessly, offering the seamless integration and reliability that Revel Systems continually promised but never delivered.
I strongly advise anyone considering Revel Systems to look elsewhere. There are other POS providers who offer transparency and genuine customer support without hidden traps and unethical business practices. Do not find yourself trapped in a similar situation; it has been a costly and frustrating ordeal for us, one that we are still fighting to resolve.

"A Cash Register would be better! "
Absolutely terrible. I worked for a reseller of possibly the worst POS system going. I actually left my role there because I couldn’t work with the system any longer.
If you are a client looking for a POS system I would say avoid, unless your network is perfect, and I mean absolutely perfect you will have syncing issues. The network usage from Revel is massive, I saw sites with excellent latency start dropping packets immediately after installation. Revel will refuse to help unless you have purchased the managed Cisco Meraki setup from them. The sync issues will cause card payments to drop almost every time, transactions will go missing, items will fail to print. They will blame you every time, even though your previous system would have work flawlessly.
Bad support, even working for a reseller we needed to ask Revel for support or assistance now and again. They didn’t like to help. One site went live and double checks were printing on both the bar and kitchen printers causing chaos for it took Revel a month to resolve this - But this was being chased on a near daily basis to get this done. Throughout that support case I spent at one point 3 hours on the phone trying to resolve it with them. You will speak with a first line support, who know next to nothing, they will troubleshoot things which do not need to be troubleshooted to make it look like they are helping, they will then take the case away and you will get a response blaming the network for the issues a few weeks later.
You think I’m joking… The network will get the blame for everything, genuinely they told me the reason why an item could not be transferred from one table to another was because of the network..? Like what were we doing physically moving the order across the airwaves..
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. Do yourself a favour and take notice of all these bad reviews here.

"Be careful with Revel"
Be careful with Revel. They are a good POS system, but if you cancel they become vindictive and aggressive. I switched systems because our franchise required it, so when it was time to renew, I didn’t, and when I called to cancel, they said I had agreed to a pop up message for 3 more years so they invoiced me for $25,000 that they say I know owe. The interesting matter is that like other times that I renewed my contract, a representative had reached out a few weeks before I cancelled so we could discuss the terms of my new contract, so why did they sent someone to renew my contract if it could be renewed on a pop up. Also. Revel is very detailed, every time you make a change, they send you a docusign to agree to the change, every time I renewed my contract, I received an email with a docusign contract that I had to sign. And now, since I told them I cancelled, all of a sudden I am on a 3 year contract that I never agreed to.
So be VERY careful with them if you plan to leave them, as they will become vicious and awful.

"Avoid!"
Avoid!! Won't let you cancel, contract automatically renewed every 1st of January for another 12 months, so if you want to cances still have to may every month untill end of contract. Thieves!!!!

"Great product now with local support"
I use this product across my restaurants in the UK and can't praise it highly enough. I have all the benefits of a well established product with lots of integrations where I need them but with the super secure architecture of iOS.
The project process and initial support from NFS has been first class and the credit card processing is saving me money vs my last deal with Dojo.

"RUN! WORSE NIGHTMARE! LAWSUITS"
RUN! DO NOT WALK! This company is a complete fraud. Not only are their services absolutely terrible, outdated and unreliable, they will charge you fees for literally not having the service. I wouldn’t recommend this service or company to anyone, even if it was the last company on earth. They have been the absolute worse company to “work with”—even though I am not even on their platform. They are frauds and LAWSUITS are waiting to happen. They would promise that their systems are capable of handling rollouts with our franchise BUT that is otherwise proven. Such a HUGE mess and they would just keep charging fees, regardless that their system isn’t even capable of handling a children’s lemonade stand, let alone a store. Pathetic.
I’d give them negative 5 stars if I could. STEER CLEAR!!! RUN to the nearest EXIT. SAVE YOURSELF.
