"Abysmal start"

Abysmal start. I have just switched to SO - I made an error with my first meter reading, totally my fault which I realised immediately. I have tried to correct this and have had no response to my effort to resolve the issue (3 emails / chats on 10 days). Regretting the switch already!

"Have just renewed a fixed rate contract…"

Have just renewed a fixed rate contract with So Energy, a really painless experience. The web site is easy to navigate and all details are very clear and concise. So far I have never found any problems and hope it stays that way. Thank you So Energy and keep up the good work.

"Shocking customer service "

Was with so energy in my old property which was 5 months ago, I sent up a payment plan over 2 months so this mess has been going on at least 3 months nearly 4 and still not sorted. The issue being I received debt collections via text when. There was a payment in place. I then payed it and more debt collections came and threatening emails baring in mind this is over £30. I have severe mental health problems and dealing with months of phonecalls and broken promises for this company to try and find the missing payment is shocking! Do not go with this company as they do not care about you and the customer service is shocking.

"I DON'T WANT A SMART METER! "

I can't comment on the 'quality' of their electricity however..... they keep ringing me and asking me to install a smart meter (often quite aggressively) The last time that they called (today) just as i was explaining that i've already said NO, countless times - he put the phone down on me - well done !

"Completely inept customer serive"

Completely inept customer serive. I asked for my final bill for 2 months (called / emailed 3 times). When I called to set up a direct debit, the failed to action this properly. They then sent my debt to a credit agency thus harming my credit score. O owe £10 BTW

"Pros and cons over three years"

Pros: Their charges work out at no more than the so-called megadeals from the big energy companies. They clearly divide summer and winter payments. It’s a relief not having to keep changing suppliers. Their website is easy to understand even for a Luddite like me. They don’t send unwanted promotions.

Cons: Like most online companies, they don’t know how to word their documents. For instance, they send me a ‘statement’ each month which isn’t a statement at all – it’s a request for my meter readings since I don’t have (and don’t want) a Smart Meter. This is confusing, Their exit fees are staggering. They are as difficult to get hold of on the phone as larger companies when, as a smaller outfit, they should be easier.
