"Bought from B&Q"

Bought from B&Q. It was to paint my Narrowboat. I am a trained coach painter. I had prepped the surface till it was like glass. The top coat was patchy and would not let go of brush strokes. All my hard work gone to waste. This is not for a professional finish. It is for the market of "that'll do". When it is dry and hard, after four days in warm weather. when I buffed it with a cloth it left light mark all over. Do not purchase unless you are not bothered by the finish.

"Do not use this paint"

I have given the paint one star because I can't leave a review with our at least filling in a space on the chart above. The paint. Valspar is simply not fit for purpose. It does not do what it says on the tin. It just doesn't perform as paint should. Do not use!

"Dont bother with Valspar wood undercoat and primer...watery & patchy at best..."

I wish I'd read these reviews before I bought the valspar wood primer and undercoat.After having spent 3 days removing and sanding the wooden door and panels I decided to give the exterior the best chance I would also prime and undercoat them before glossing.
I found it so watery -even after 2 coats the coverage is so patchy and not giving a great purchase for the top coat.
...but I preservered and went on to do another coat however I'm still in the same position with patchy coverage at best!! I'd of been far better just sealing the wood with the gloss paint and doing several coats of gloss without the primer...
They say preparation is key however yet to find this with Valspar...

After a terrible experience at b&q I was about to give up on valspar all together. I reached out to valspar directly who resolved my issue straight away.
Thank you Jean Paul for a great experience and restoring my faith in valspar.

"VALSPAR PREMIUM : Nul"

J'ai acheté chez CASTORAMA un pot de 10 litres de peinture VALSPAR premium, une catastrophe !!! Contrairement à ce qui est indiqué, pouvoir couvrant archi nul et des traces sur chacun des murs. J'en suis à 3 couches pour la même pièce, et il faudra manifestement encore 2 ou 3 couches... Suis bricoleur et les 5 autres pièces avaient été peintes avec une autre marque, un fabricant lillois. Je regrette amèrement d'avoir changé de marque. J'avais interrogé la vendeuse sur les avis négatifs laissés sur la marque, elle m'avait indiqué que les personnes satisfaites ne déposaient pas d'avis.. J'aurai mieux fait de me fier à ces avis. Particularité du site de CASTO, si vous n'avez pas payé avec une carte de fidélité (que je n'ai pas) et/ou en ligne (pour acheter de la peinture sur mesure, a priori, on n’achète pas en ligne), pas de possibilité de laisser d'avis : Manifestement, un moyen pour limiter les avis.

"I really don't know what to say"

I really don't know what to say. I purchased a straight to metal paint and on first impressions I thought this is good, seemed to cover well and go on easily.

Wow was I wrong. I had sanded the entire metal structure that frames my outside porch, and its not like I am a novice at this, primed it waited for it to dry properly and then applied Valspar.

Got up in the morning and I can rub it with my finger in places and the paint just comes off, I can actually see where it is lifting.

If this is the quality of paint that I can expect then I might as well buy some paint from a pound store.

"Valspar Express Coat. Awful paint, do not buy! "

Last week I purchased the "offer" of 2 x 10L magnolia Matt emulsion, Express coat by Valspar following a recommendation from a B&Q employee. We have a 3 bedroomed terrace property to paint throughout, something we have done on many occasions in the past. This paint, bearing in mind it is being used on already magnolia emulsion walls, has been the worst paint I have ever bought or used. Began painting Tuesday and here we are Thursday evening and not one room completed, all needed a third coat to cover the patchy different colours and as for cutting in for the ceiling, it looks like q 3 year old has done it. So fed up took the unopened 10L back to B&Q and replaced with different paint. B&Q very obliging and took the Valspar back, "never have any complaints about this paint" was the comment I got, but they still changed it without a fuss, which was good customer service. Valspar Express Coat worst paint I've ever used if you've got a lot of rooms to cover, give this a miss

"I don’t know where to start"

I don’t know where to start. Purchased Premium and it’s crap. On second coat, patchy, thin paint, really poor quality. I have years off experience of painting my home, definitely going back to Dulux. Wasted a shed load of money on crap, thin, unusable paint. Have to redo it all again. Aargh

I normally buy Dulux paint but found the exact colour I was looking for in Valspar range.
Not the cheapest paint so I thought it would be good quality. After my decorator had done 3 coats, he has admitted defeat. It is drying in very patchy and looks dreadful.
I have now wasted money on the paint and paying the decorator. Gutted
