Valspar Paint

"So good "
Firstly, it was great to be able to match ANY colour, I easily found the perfect 'plaster pink' shade for my bathroom and EVEN better, it's easy to clean- I've scrubbed it and not even a scratch on my paint work.

"DO NOT BUY EVER."
DO NOT BUY EVER.
Got called to finish a job another builder had started and they had used Valspar. The paint literally pulled off the wall in plastic sheets whilst sorting out some damaged areas.
Scrapped and sanded all the paint off. Sanded and prepared the walls, primed using Zinsser.
The paint tin says one or two coats to cover. I’m now on coat three (probably need 4 coats) as it has appalling coverage and one wall has started to peel again.
I’m now working for free to put this right. I thought Farrow and Ball made the worst paint. Congratulations Valspar you have managed to beat them.

"My decorator who arrived today advised…"
My decorator who arrived today advised against using Valspar paint and after reading these reviews I went and bought a tin of Crown paint instead. I have used Valspar wood paint on door architraves and after 3 coats has still not covered the white and looks patchy. B&Q please don’t continue to ignore these poor reviews and rectify the issue with your paints!!

"Worst paint I've ever used. Heartbreaking. "
I was convinced to buy Valspar in the local B&Q over Farrow & Ball. Nightmare scenario, less than 4 months later it's peeling off all over the place: external walls, internal walls, everywhere. At first I thought it could be a damp wall but unfortunately it's happening everywhere I painted it. The mess of removing and repainting is heartbreaking. Never again.

"Can I do 0?"
Can I do 0?
Bought a couple of different types of valspar paint - I don't know what they make this stuff with but it's useless. Terrible adhesion, terrible coverage, it just absolutely sucks. Do yourself a favour and buy anything else. It's not worth it.

" valspar trade matt emulsion"
I used the valspar trade matt emulsion. I honestly can't understand why this paint has bad reviews on trust pilot. Excellent coverage that only required one coat. Very easy to apply with roller and brush fast drying time and a lovely matt finish. Very impressed with this paint and will always use in the future.

"Rubbish"
Rubbish, waste of money.
I have used the exterior & interior wood paints, also the interior wall & bathroom paint. Wish I hadn’t as made a lot more work!
In every case I prepped the surface by sanding & using a base coat. The worst is the wall paint, it literally peels off! The wood paint is not hard wearing at all, scratches & chips really easily, not suitable for a front door. Bathroom paint streaks if you get water splashes on it. Complete waste of money, I literally had to peel the paint off my sitting room walls to start again.

"Possibly the worst premium paint I e…"
Possibly the worst premium paint I e ever used. Patched, repaired and saved the walls perfectly. Pva dilute prime and then countless layers of paint to get a consistent colour. Once we managed to defeat the blistering we start to mastic the edges (bathroom range paint in a bathroom.
Thats when the colour bleeds into the mastic. Then starts to peel when using the soft silicone mastic smoothing tool. Now it's peeling off in sheets. Wish I had stuck with dulux. This is awful. Just withdraw the product before you have no brand left. Or maybe joust fold the brand, I certainly will not touch it ever ever again.

"What I don't really understand here"
What I don't really understand here, is I got two different Valspar paints mixed up by B&Q at the same time. The lighter colour painted beautifully, lovely coverage, easy to apply, I actually preferred it to the usual Dulux. The second paint, which was a darker, emerald green colour, may as well have been made by a different company. It is by far the worst paint I've ever used. It's almost like it doesn't adhere to the wall?! You roller or brush it over, look back 2 minutes later and there's light patches coming through. After two decent coats it's dried incredibly patchy and looks absolutely awful. It's clearly not the wall, because I painted the other walls in the same room with a white Dulux and they were fine. An absolute waste of time and money, and I'm gobsmacked reading the countless other very similar reviews that they've not done anything to address what is very clearly a faulty product.
