"Avoid at all cost"

OMG what should have been a quick room refresh has turned into an expensive nightmare. The room smells awful everytime the sun shines like a mix between cat urine and damp dog I now have to keep all the curtains closed and radiator turned off to prevent it stinking out the rest of my house. The very expensive alkali treatment Valspar advised I buy to rectify it has not worked and I’m now left facing having to pay the decorator to sand it all back and start over. Valspar have been less than helpful with a standard copy and paste email telling me it’s not harmful to my health which implies they’re very aware of the problem. Absolutely disgusted. Avoid avoid avoid

so upset. waisted my time and effort painting my kitchen with clasper premium cajun shrimp. on my fourth coat ( not including the under coat. i’m going to have to do it all again. honestly i could cry.
i have been told that b&q should have advised me to use a grey base primer, which they didn’t. i should now paint two more coats (having already painted 4) and they will give me a £25 voucher for their paint.
i gave since repainted the walls with two coats of a different branded paint and no issues.
i would like a full refund for the two pots of valspar paint purchased that was unfit for purchase. i am not asking for my loss of time waisted using this appalling paint.

There are some really good ones out there!
I was very surprised on how good coverage and how it worked out blemishes.
I did brush it on not roller and was very happy with finished product .
Will be using again.

Really poor coverage , very thin paint. So much effort into painting a small bit of wall that would have easily been one coat with another brand. I’m 3 coats in and it still looks dreadful nothing like the sample card. I went for kitchen paint in Matt finish. Will never trust Valspar again, a huge waste of money and time

Omg.went into band q to get white matt emultion was convinced by the sales assistant tthat valspar express coat was better than dulux. So silly me got it instead. Still after coat after coat after coat looks streaky patchy .I cant cope any longer with this s....ite. going not togo buy some better quality .if I was valspar I'd stop making paint find something else to make money on

Used Valspur paint for the last 5 years wouldn’t go back to any other brand, goes on easily, looks great, good coverage, fantastic colours even colour match to fabrics 👌

"Bought Valspar "Be Brave" dark plum…"

Bought Valspar "Be Brave" dark plum coloured paint to go over very pale grey. 3 coats later it is still not covering it evenly. £37 for 2.5litre tin is extortionate and the quality is horrendous (it is no Farrow and Ball!). Very annoyed with the amount of time and effort I am going to put into painting this one wall that should have covered easily. God knows how many more coats of paint it will take, I just hope it ends up covering it evenly otherwise I will need to buy another brand of paint to go over it. Very disappointed.

I wish I had checked the reviews…. I’m putting Valspar paint on the walls now. Like someone else commented, it’s going to need more coats. I might cut my losses and use it as an under paint to cover dark paint and go and get a tin of real paint. What a waste of time. Delux on the ceiling. Perfect coverage and far less work.

My mistake was I had forgotten how poor it was when I had used it several years ago. This time was no better. B&Q advised me it was top quality. It isn’t. Three coats later and it still needs another. Coverage is dreadful and it’s not a cheap paint. Last time I was given vouchers for more valspar paint which I obviously didn’t use, unfortunately my memory didn’t recall this until it became obvious. Forget valspar
