"Awful paint-AVOID!"
This paint is awful, DO NOT BUY. It is like poster paint. Super thin and streaky. I bought the furniture paint and after 3 coats it is still streaky and uneven coverage. I doubt I will get an even coverage even with more coats. The bookshelf I was upcycling has been ruined. It's runny, it drips everywhere and not worth the hassle. Cheap paint that you will get charged a premium price for. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!

"Over £100 on paint and it’s worthless"
Over £100 on paint and it’s worthless! Nothing like the colour we wanted it to be, B&Q washed their hands of it and Valspar expecting you to jump through hoops to get the issue rectified! Will never use again!

"Don’t do it!!!…"
Having brought Valspar eggshell for woodwork I’m absolutely disgusted with the quality of the paint. It’s thin and runny and drips everywhere. The coverage is really poor, I’m on my third coat of woodwork which has been time consuming and is still patchy. What should have been two coats at best, is now looking like 4 coats. It wasn’t cheap and although the colour is perfect, it wasn’t worth the effort and exasperation it has caused. I feel I have no choice but to continue as the alternative is to sand it all down again, and spend more money on a different brand. Wish I had read the reviews but I didn’t and I’m paying the price!!!!

"DO NOT BUY THIS PAINT!"
I bought 7.5 litres of the premium matt paint which my decorator said would be more than enough as it would only need 2 coats . 3 coats later, on only half of the room it was obvious that this paint was going to take at least 5 coats. It was such poor quality, tacky, wouldn't cover. I had to leave it with my decorator as I was away and he bought another 7.5 litres to allow me to try and get my money back on the love your colour guarantee. What a performance going through that on the valspar website. I have also had to pay an extra £150 to my decorator for the extra time taken.
Still not happy with the paint.
I will be taking this further.

"Still tacky after 3 weeks! Peels off when touched."
What an absolute nightmare with this overpriced paint.
My daughter wanted her room painted black, so I agreed we would paint the walls white, then paint the furniture, woodwork and door black. We did the skirting and door frame, only to find that it started peeling, so we had to take it all off again and applied an undecoat. This seemed to do the trick, so we painted all the futniture the same way. We had to use 4-5 coats! That was 3 weeks ago and the paint is still tacky! The room can't be used. If you touch anything the paint comes off, even after all this time. I really wish I had read the reviews before hand, as I see other people are having the same issue.
Now I haven't got a clue what to do. I can't face stripping all this off and doing it again in a better paint, but the room can't be used. Think I will have to contact trading standards and see what they advise as it is clearly not fit for purpose and it is going to cost me to put it right.

"Great paint..RUBBUSH TINS! "
I always use valspar as I actually love the paint and they do F and B dupes which is great.....unfortunately the plastic paint tins they use are pathetic! Sat here after nearly breaking my fingers trying to get my tin of paint open! Why do I not learn as its not the first time this has happened and once they are off its near impossible to get back on! Seriously shouldn't need to be this hard. I'm absolutely fuming I have to wait for my partner to come home so we can both wrestle it off

"Why didn't i come here to read reviews…"
Why didn't i come here to read reviews before buying? Why? because it's B&Q and I thought i could trust them to sell decent paint but when you try to complain they wipe their hands of the matter and tell you to contact Valspar Direct..
As for the paint... it's patchy after 4 coats and still tacky after 3 weeks.... its going to have to come off..
after reading ALL these similar stories I'm amazed they are continuing to sell this garbage.
It not just a bad product review this company needs to be stopped and trading standards have been contacted

"5 coats needed "
Purchased for my daughter’s house to paint one wall previously white. B & Q said it would probably take 2 coats. We used a professional decorator and it took five coats, it’s a good job we bought the 2.5L as we used all the paint and the tester for just one wall. It dried really streaky. She needs more paint for a small area because they had to do 5 coats on one wall it has cost a lot of time & money already. Will not he using again if this is the standard of paint.

"HORRIFYING experience with this paint"
HORRIFYING experience with this paint, and with Valspar Customer Service.
THE PAINT:
I purchased two paints, one full size and one tester. Both matt finish. The full size paint came out the wrong colour. Valspar have a "colour guarantee," that they would replace the paint. The tester pot, though sold as matt, came out shiny silk. So, two seriously negative experiences with Valspar paint. The experience was negative additionally as I paid for contractors to use it.
THE CUSTOMER SERVICE:
The Valspar Customer Service asked me to buy a new tin of paint, to present them with the receipt, and promised they will pay for the replacement tin of paint. Valspar Customer Service also assured me that, for the tester pot which was purchased as matt but come out shiny silk, that I can be assured the full size will be matt. I purchased the second tin of paint, and paid the second time for the contractors to apply it to the wall. Valspar Customer Service completely ignored my emails presenting them with the receipt for the replacement tin of paint. The full size tin also was not matt, as they assured me it would be, but shiny silk. The result is that I have now paid some £80 for two tins of paint I cannot use, plus two times I have paid the contractors, only to be ghosted by Valspar Customer Service and their false promises.
Rubbish and untrustworthy products, ditto the Customer Service. I would have rather they just ignored my complaint as I would not have incurred double the cost, at my own expense. I am horrified.
