Valspar Paint

"Seriously peeved that I spent so much…"
Seriously peeved that I spent so much on inferior paint, I got a 2.5l premium gloss (£47) mixed at my local B&Q only for me to find due to it’s watery texture I had to do 3 coats (& yes I fully prepped) but then found once finished it basically stays ‘soft’ also chips off so easily, I had planned to do further rooms with the same paint but I’ll now be binning what’s left in the pot.
I also had a 750ml special colour mixed in the furniture paint for a project - what a waste of £22 !!! I’m now going to have to go and get a decent brand as all it did was craze with each coat - wish I’d read reviews before wasting so much time & money

"Cracking all over"
Used to paint bedroom around a year ago. Had lots of problems with cracking paint after extensively and dilligently prepping the walls, multiple sands, multiple sugar washes and multiple coats of paint and now a year on the cracking has significantly progressed and the walls look awful in spite of using the second most expensive valspar paint. Since using this valspar paint I have been using dulux and wish I'd never tried to do anything else, less prep of walls, less coats and an infinitely better finish with no cracking paint. Don't bother with valspar, it's a false economy- spend a bit more to spend a bit less and buy a well known reliable paint brand.

"Paint that peels if you look at it too hard "
I write this as I stare at tins of Valspar matt paint that now permanently live in my bathroom. This is because the paint that I applied in all rooms of my new home last summer is so terrible that it comes off with the slightest touch, and so I am constantly opening said tins to do touch-ups, particularly when I have visitors coming. I've used Valspar paint in my whole house, so as you can imagine, it has been and continues to be an expensive frustration. Buy a more reputable brand...

"Soul destroying needed 5 coats of paint to cover roller marks and never dries"
Bought a 5l tin of paint that would usually easily cover our hallway, unfortunately after going through 3/4 of the tin and not covering even half the way we took the tin back explaining that we've done 4 coats of paint on undercoated walls and after changing to different rollers have not been able to get good coverage without roller marks. We was offered a new tin which we was told was premium and would cover better than the first tin. Again we went over the next wall 4 times again the same we found 5 coats over each wall finally gave us a good coverage but we are now into week 3 of painting the hall way and 10 litres of paint and we still have not finished. It has been soul destroying! This paint says it great coverage can do second coat after a few hours but we found the paint was always tacky did not matter if we left it for days. This is by far the worst paint we have ever used

Edit: Ignore the replies they make. They never do contact you.
This is by far the worst paint I’ve ever used.
I’m painting a colour called sailors delight. Theres nothing delightful about it. It’s far too watery in consistency and doesn’t cover well at all.
After 3 coats it’s terribly patchy. Some parts look almost done and others look like it needs another 3 coats. It’s so inconsistent.
We used another paint in another room last week. After 2 coats it was looking great and I did a third just to use the paint up.

"Worst paint I have EVER used"
I have painted A LOT of rooms in my time and this paint is the worst. After about 30 - 60 seconds it becomes tacky meaning with a second sweep of the roller and it all comes off the wall. It makes cutting in at the edges and around fixings is impossible - by the time the roller meets the paint you've brushed on - off it all comes again. You're then left with little tacky/flaky bits of tacky paint on the walls that you have to pick off - but you can't go over with your roller again to make good, because it'll all come off again with another sweep of your roller. So angry with this awful awful product - PLEASE don't buy! I went straight out to buy Dulux to finish the job and it was a dream to use in comparision.

As others have stated poor quality and overpriced poor quality at that! We primed our walls and left it the recommended amount of time before using the valspar. I'm now spending my time peeling this *@#£ paint off my walls as it peels with the slightest rub of my finger which is satisfying really but if I don't laugh I'll cry........ tough and durable my backside

"Valspar classic emulsion "
Valspar classic emulsion
We had 10l mixed for our hallway and it’s dried patchy with a terrible textured finish that make it look even worse.
Applied with medium pile micro fibre roller over a smooth sprayed white base coat. Now having to find a sander to sand it all smooth to start again
And the coverage was not as good as claimed
Valspar claim to reaching out but Havnt
Had the same colour mixed again in premium instead of classic
And when we opened the container it’s the wrong colour
I will NEVER use Valspar products again
This is the response from valspar copied from there email
Has anyone ever heard of wetting a roller ?
If that’s not watering it down I don’t know what
Hi John,
You could also slightly wet a roller before using the paint.
We would not recommend directly diluting the paint.
As previously advised we can send a Valspar voucher, that would be our full and final offer. We will be polietly declining your request for a refund on this occasion as we are confident it is not a product fault,
Best wishes

"Awful!"
Oh wow I wish I’d read reviews of this paint before buying it! It’s absolutely awful and has taken 5 coats to get a solid colour as there is so little pigment in the paint! What a waste of time and now I’m stuck having to spend more money on more paint.
