"Imperfect door from the start and Solidor refuse to rectify this"

We had a new soldior front door fitted in January 2023. Inside one of the panes of glass, between the double glazing, there are dusty fingerprints. There is also bubbling on the opaque transfer used to add the privacy screen. Solidor have stated this doesn’t meet their threshold to provide a new pane of glass under warranty. It was imperfect from the start. To say I am disappointed is an understatement.

"Delighted with our door"

Delighted with our door. After being installed for a couple of years it developed a slight issue with one hinge. This was dealt with promptly, politely and professionally. Couldn’t be happier.

"SOLIDOR Extreme Experience"

Last year I made the biggest mistake of my 78 year life…I purchased a SOLIDOR Composite front door with half glazed side panel, at a cost of almost £3000. What we have endured for the past 8 months is an entrance hall draped in tarpaulin, bath towels, and a letter box filled with tea towels to surpress the ingress of rain. Water cascaded down the inside of the door, through the panels, and the letterbox filled with water. Our independent installer got little or no support from SOLIDOR in trying to temporarily reduce the problem, and it was one month before SOLIDOR arranged for an engineer to attend. My phone calls were met with disdain by an extremely arrogant individual. Over Christmas and New Year the problem was again extreme. But, SOLIDOR were on extended closure. When I did manage to make contact in the New Year, I had to “run the gauntlet” of the same individual who was unbelievably unsympathetic and told me that when the engineer had previously visited all panels had been sealed and he assured me that no water could be coming through the door. Despite my assurance that water was still pouring down the inside of the door, he insisted that there must be another cause, and suggested “condensation”! He refused point blank to allow the engineer to revisit unless I could provide video evidence of where the rain water was ingressing. Having provided video evidence, it was a further two months before an engineer arrived and witnessed the severity of the rain water ingressing and agreed with my diagnosis that rain was now entering through the letterbox. He ordered a replacement of a different design, which took another two and a half weeks to arrive and be fitted. On removing the original letter plate, six months old, it was severely corroded inside, despite being stainless steel and recommended by SOLIDOR for use in coastal locations. The engineer said it was the worst he had ever seen in his years with the company. The saga continues though, now eight months from fitting, as we await replacement door handles.
Damaged concrete floor, carpets and decor, and a life lived under duress and not even an apology or suggestion of compensation for what clearly is a faulty door. I would not recommend SOLIDOR to my worst enemy. Shame on you, your product and persistent arrogance.

"Great customer service…"

Great customer service from this company. I had a slight issue with a door I bought a couple of years ago and the after sales/customer service really was first class. Replacement parts supplied in no time at all. Highly recommend this company, thanks Solidor

"I have a front door from solidor and I…"

I have a front door from solidor and I can only says it’s been problems. The look gets stuck, locking mechanism doesn’t retract fulling to open and close it doesn’t close correctly, has needed a number of calllouts from the upvc supplier who was their agent. It was not a cheap door but had been a let down. Follow up and answers about the issues were just fob offs.

"Emailed Solidor on 11th April 23 and…"

Emailed Solidor on 11th April 23 and mentioned what was missing on our door, not even sure when it went missing. I had a reply that day saying they would send it out. Today the 13th April 23 it arrived , not sure we could ask anymore than that. Thank you.

"After care absolutely shocking"

After care absolutely shocking. The customer service team just send you round in circles and then stop responding to you. I've had an open case now for 6 months regarding a Solidor stainless steel handle that has gone rusty, the advice is just clean it but the rust comes back. I will never deal with this company again, I do not recommend their products they are over priced, promise a warranty which is non existent and they ignore you!

"Honest review"

I needed a replacement door 2 years after fitting due to poor quality. Finally arranged for this to be fitted however the wrong size door was sent so had to arrange a second date. After several more weeks of chasing Solidor, the second fitting date arrived however once again, the incorrect size door was sent again!! Several more weeks pass and 3rd time lucky, the correct size was sent however there was no door knocker or spyhole provided so my door still isn’t completed.

Since then, I have made 12 phone calls which go unanswered, sent countless emails, Facebook messages, Twitter messages, contacted Solidor via their website contact form however I have been completely ignored.

This was 3 weeks ago and have now contacted citizen’s advice for support in progressing this as formal action against Solidor.

This would be so easily resolved if they only arranged for a spyhole and knocker to be fitted.

Before deciding to deal with this company, think very carefully, if you have any issues they will completely ignore customers once they have taken their money and provide no help. I have been very reasonable and polite however this won’t get you anywhere.

Avoid like the plague, they will happily take advantage of paying customers.

"After sales ?"

Well what can one say after sales rubbish back in 2016 brought new door through a company near me made a warranty claim 6 months ago solidor sent new door great. Fitters came to fit it then found glass had had it ordered new glass wrong glass sent got right one after phone call. if it wasn’t for Mathew at solidor would still be waiting give him pay rise. You can’t treat people like this email no good. I am oap my door was leaking and letting cold in.Had to pay fitters have deside cut down on food or heating don’t surpose solidor cares. or when someone claims on warranty they would act quick thankyou Mathew customer survives your star ⭐️ will never buy solidor door again.

"Excellent Quality doors and After Sales Service"

We are really pleased with the exceptional quality of our new front door. It was delivered in perfect condition and fitted in September 2022 by Leeke's. We chose the 'Alnwick' model in French Grey, fitted with 'Modena' glass. It looks stunning and has transformed the look of the front of the house.
We are impressed by how solid it is, the strong hinges, the superb lock and the very effective felt draft seals - no more annoying cold drafts in the hallway in winter.
We have been very pleased with the after sales service: a visitor accidentally knocked the end cap off the drip rail recently, and we asked Solidor if we could buy a replacement. Although we had purchased the door from Leeke's, Solidor promptly sent us a pack of several end caps, completely free of charge.
