"As a window and door fitter by trade I…"
As a window and door fitter by trade I decided to go for a Solidor door for my own home. I chose Solidor due to it being a high quality product and it's one of the easiest doors to fit.
The door looks good, feels sturdy and smooth to use and was nice and easy to install.
Pleased with the door and the service from Solidor, will recommend to my customers.

"I’m surprised they get so many bad…"
I’m surprised they get so many bad after sales reviews when they don’t even respond to sales enquiries! Made a direct online web enquiry and received an acknowledgment Thursday 10/03/23, no reference given but if they deem to respond, my postcode is EX17 5PN. It stated ‘If you do not receive any response within the next 72 hours call 01782 950946’. No response within 72 hours excluding weekend so I rang twice on Tuesday 14/03/23, no answer, so I rang their HO number to be told they would put me through but they too couldn’t get an answer either so took my details promising a return call. No callback so rang dedicated number 15/03 & twice on 16/03, you guessed it, no answer. Rang HO switchboard who advised that there was nobody available to speak to me so I requested a callback from someone senior in their sales dept. Needless to say nobody bothered to respond. Yesterday, 20/03, rang dedicated number twice, surprise surprise, an answer service......progress?? Left message to call me within 24 hours or I would write them off. Not expecting a call I tried my luck with their HO number and spoke to someone who, although unable to deal with my enquiry, did take the trouble of tracking down the details of their Area Manager. Rang his number and got a voice message...........he’s on annual leave!!!
More than 24 hours have elapsed since the deadline I gave, it is now past normal trading hours. I have finally given up which is probably a blessing in disguise because quite apart from their abysmal track record displayed on Trustpilot(which I only read yesterday) they will undoubtedly not be in business for much longer so any guarantee, worthless or not, would never be honoured.

"Poor quality and fit"
We purchased a front door during lockdown so had to rely on the internet for information but were encouraged by good reviews. We have now had the door for 2 years and we are very disappointed with the fit. The frame appeared to warp making the door stick but Solidor insisted it was within tolerances, however, we now struggle to close the door . It needs a great slam, causing the trim to fall off and the turn key is stiff and inaccessible behind the over large door pull bar. Just a really poor design and poor quality. I would not recommend this company.

On two occasions I have received a great customer service from Solidor.
Both requests were dealt with quickly and without a quibble.

"Aftersales support"
Contacted solidor a month or so ago with a slight problem with one of the 4 doors we have, spoke to solidor who were very helpful and we arranged a date for the technical team to attend, John attended and arranged for a replacement door, he then returned to install the new door, he was very knowledgeable and he even checked over my other doors and adjusted one of the other doors which had started to drop slightly. (this was not a fault of the door) Overall I have had a positive response for the aftersales support team and John the installer

"It's getting worse"
21/6/23
The latest. The Solidor engineer has been back to assess the jammed door and has adjusted the frame yet again, probably to match the bend in the door. In doing so, the frame is now cosmically damaged and looks like it is either many years old or been fitted by an amateur. The damage includes, rips in the rubber weather seal around the frame, big holes in the frame where screws have been adjusted, cracks in the surrounding trims and a deep scratch on a hinge cover.
Photos have been sent to Solidor, along with emails asking them to contact me, no reply as yet...

And so it continues!!!
Another new door fitted by Solidor's engineer who also adjusted the frame. Now, when we wake every morning, the door is jammed shut and will not open This a serious fire hazard and preventing our only access from escaping at the front of our home.
Solidor's answer, speak to the middle party who the door was ordered through as their engineer as now away. The door and frame are now totally fitted by Solidor. This must be resolved urgently...
We are now on door 4 from Solidor.
The first door bowed, during the summer, the second door installed by Solidor themselves had damage to the face which they tried to hide, third door the front face wasn't glued properly or coming away from the slab.
Our latest issue on door 4 is that the side strip is now showing sings of coming away from the slab.
Please can someone at Solidor contact me, I cant get Steven and Jess who were previously helpful via their emails...
The latest door has started to delaminate

"Poor follow up"
Wrote a review earlier this week. Very quick to reply 'so can take this offline' but when I ask someone to call me to discuss things further -nothing..
I didn't think that was too much to ask give the numbe rof hours I have already spent chasing/writing emails etc..

Very helpful company to deal with, I would recommend them. Our door seals failed after a few years and they sent replacements you couldn’t wish for any better service.

"Solidor Customer Services"
I had a problem with my 3.5 year old Conway 3 front door and unfortunately, because my Installer ceased trading during the pandemic, I couldn't take my problem up with it. What do I do?
I decided to write to Solidor and bring this problem to the attention of Solidor's Customer Services team. I was more than pleasantly surprised when, without any obligation to do so, the team (aka 'MK') arranged to replace the door like for like. This job was completed yesterday (21 Feb) by their John Mullock, a very experienced and knowlegeable field engineer, who removed, then very carefully installed the new door. Operation of the door is now smoother than ever.
The Company's Customer Services team, in my opinion, were beyond reproach in dealing with my problem - considering that I had no contractual relationship with them and I was wholly dependant on the Company's goodwill to help me.
I have written this review because I believe the Company's response to my problem has been very positive and deserves to be recorded.

"Very happy customer!"
I roughly knew which Solidor door I wanted, but needed some help navigating styles, colours, types of glass and hardware.
I rang Solidor and spoke to representative Steve Smith, who took me through all my options and answered all my questions. No stone was left unturned! Steve was friendly, knowledgeable and professional, and was key (as it were!) to helping me choose my door.
Very happy customer!
