"Robustness of Solidor Doors"
Update to earlier information provided on issue with gap between brushed ring pull fitting on Solidor door and lock barrel.
No final reply / solution received from Solidor. Issue referred to and taken up by a representative from Masonite no final reply / comment received on the solution to this known issue as yet.
On 4/10/2022 apologises were offered by Masonite for the fact that no response had been given by Solidor to my first correspondence, and a request for information as to which supplier the door installer purchased the door from, as installer was not a direct retailer of Solidor. The information requested by Masonite was given by the installation company, Southfield Windows on 12/10/2022, and I sent an email to Southfield Windows and Masonite so that all parties were aware that this action had been taken on 12/10/2022. As at 4/11/2022 no further information is required from either me or Installer, Southfield Windows. Masonite / Solidor to resolve issue between the retailer they sold door to, before onward sale of the door to my installer. As far as I am aware the only information outstanding is that requested by Masonite to one of its retailers. (I am not party to this information. I have answered all of Masonite's requests for information.)
At present the best and alleged only solution to fill the gap to make the door 'weatherproof' is to apply double sided tape under the ring pull door fitting on the outside face of the door up to the barrel of the lock. Installer applied 'the only solution'. For a door costing £1785 it does not seem reasonable that double sided sticky tape will ensure that the door is weatherproof (waterproof and draughtproof).
Photo of the lock fitting with the sticky tape solution has been provided to Masonite. There must be a better permanent technical solution to this known problem with these doors if the company choses to spend some time to review designs and invest in a solution. To be clear this is not a one-off issue, it is a known issue to installers.
In the meantime, Solidor doors may be affected eg swell / warp by ingress of water. In hindsight a solid treated wooden door, frame and better fitting lock would have been a better option.

"Can’t fault a thing"
Door was fitted and installed this week with almost no issues whatsoever. The pull knob ordered with the door arrived with a little mark but Rhea from customer service was fast and responsive and had one shipped out the next day in time for fitting. Cannot fault her at all. Thank you!!

"Poor finish on new door"
We have purchased a Solidor Door in the Amalfi design door exterior colour Navy blue.
Upon installation of the door there's several area's on the exterior trim and door where the Navy paint has either not been sprayed evenly or there's white flecks coming through the paint.
We were advised that a touch up pen was being sent, but come on we paid good money for this door and you expect this to be top quality and brand spanking new with no defects upon delivery/installation.
Our trim around the central window of the door is a totally different blue its ludicrous. This needs to be replaced/resolved asap the door is only 10 weeks old and we have already complained to the supplier.

"Excellent service, start to finish"
Had a door delivered on Friday, fitted on the Monday. The experience was problem free from start to finish, helpful customer service, great communication, friendly and professional delivery and fitted quickly and to a high standard. The quality far exceeds that of other composites in the market and looks fantastic. Will definitely be ordering again and would highly recommend.

"Dissatisfaction"
I’ve recently purchased a new door from Solidor that came with mismatched gold coloured door furniture.
The door knocker is very different from the rest of the furniture and a completely different collection. Several friends have made negative comments which is not what you want to hear after spending money on a door from what we thought was a high class trusted company.
I’ve been in communication with Solidor and have asked them if their customer service department would exchange the door knocker. It’s now a week on and I’ve not heard back from them.
So disappointed!!!
Update:
I’ve had a response from Rhys at Solidor saying to rest assure he is looking into this for me. He is just waiting to hear back from customer support and he will let me know the response.
🤞the next update is a positive one
Outcome:
I received a call from Solidor to discuss how they could resolve my problem and have now received replacement for my door knocker.
Thank you Solidor.

"Poor service from Solidor again!!"
Poor service from Solidor again!! This issue has been going on for over a year now and it's a shame i have to post another review with one star. I've been a double-glazing fitter for well over 30 years now so i can say with confidence, i know what I'm talking about!
A few months after fitting one of their doors to my son's property the door started to bow quite badly and being busy myself and my son living quite some distance from me it took me a couple of months to get there to see what the problem was. After contacting my supplier as they use the Solidor slab in their Upvc frame, Solidor sent an engineer to the property to do a report and while he was there made some adjustments to the centre keep. After waiting to receive their report they more or less tried to say it was due to water ingress but i can honestly say that's a load of rubbish, the door is not water damaged in any way! it's just Solidor trying to get out of supplying a new slab.
After i sent my fist review on this matter i was contacted by Stephen @ Solidor customer services who asked me to send over some photo's of the bowed door, this did take me a few weeks to sort out, as i said i live quite far from my son! After sending over the photo's, I've not had a reply back!
Recently there was an emergency at the property and my grandchildren couldn't get out of the front door due to the door being bowed, they were unable to turn the key.
Would love to hear your response and by all means send your engineer again!
Since this has happened, I've been researching other composite door manufacturers and quite a few will guarantee their doors from bowing over 3mm. The door I installed for my son is bowed 6 / 7mm so is causing problems opening and also draughts.

Solidor came to the rescue when the installer couldn’t after months and months, I’ll never use them again!
Solidor sent two new end caps for the weather strip on the bottom of the door. Thank you

"Excellent Product & Excellent Service"
I had a defect on my door which was installed in 2018, after contacting Solidor customer services I put in touch with Steven. I sent though pictures of the defect together with other information which was requested.
Steven professionally dealt with this issue from start to finish and arranged for my door to be completely replaced. The service was truly impeccable and he went above and beyond to ensure that the problem was rectified in a matter of weeks! This is the aftercare you expect after paying for a premium door!
Massive thanks to Steven & John for the 5* aftercare and installation!
Excellent product, excellent service & a very happy customer! As a result of the aftercare I will be purchasing another door to match the Peacock Blue!
