"Poor quality Disappointing Paint spraying"

We bought a Solidor believing it to be manufactured to a high quality,this included the Chartwell Green paint we chose applied during manufacturing.
The door was only fitted a couple of weeks ago,when we came to simply cleaning the outside with a soft cloth with warm water ,we noticed the white plastic of the door showing and visible due to the lack of paint colour.
being shocked at this poor standard of paint spraying we contacted our supplier ,who now tell us they have been sent a TOUCH UP from Solidor which will be sent to us. !!!!!! Really on a brand new door customers now have to TOUCH UP Because of poor manufacturing .

"We had a Ruby Red Solidor front door…"

We had a Ruby Red Solidor front door installed in February 2021. A stained glass panel in the door plus two side panels were ordered to our own design. These were not ready at the time of installation, therefore the door was installed with a temporary blank panel plus two blank panels at the side of the door. We were fobbed off for months regarding the supply of the stained glass until we were eventually informed that the company had gone into liquidation. This leaves us with an incomplete job and no Solidor guarantee. We also have an issue with colour fade which means the glass frame and bottom bar no longer match. I have tried contacting Solidor over this issue for advice and support to no avail. Be warned!

"Cracking door exterior"

I had a solider fitted in 2017.
It was replaced in 2021 because the exterior was cracking.
I am now having the door replaced again because its cracking.
I think it's because the door is south facing its in the sun most of the day.
Not a good idea covering a door in plastic Solidor especially if it's exposed to the sun.
Solider is no good if it can't be exposed to the weather.


Update as of 9.10.22
Solidor have contacted me but still haven't helped because they need my installers supplier details.
I've tried to obtain them but they won't give them to me.
So solider can't help me now.
DO NOT use Solidor the doors are not fit for purpose and they won't help if you have problems. STAY CLEAR

Had a new Solidor Stable Door fitted a couple of weeks ago and it looks fantastic. The quality of the door is outstanding, and really pleased that we chose another Solidor after having a front door fitted a couple of years ago. Well done Solidor, great to see a true British manufacturer producing a great product.

"Excellent Service"

After having my door supplied last year, we accidentally broke one of the glass units at the front. My local fitter has retired so called Solidor to see if I could buy a new one. I thought I was pushing it with my fitter no longer working but huge well done to the tech team especially Rhea who was fantastic.
New unit looks perfect and only took the Solidor engineer 30 mins I was expecting to be off work all day. Superb service

From start to finish simply a great experience. Advised to use a local door installer and looked at three suppliers. Solidor offered the best range and whilst the three suppliers designer web sites were similar, Solidor’s range and ease of use was excellent. Ordered my door with CWG and it was made and delivered on time within three weeks, people were saying it could be months waiting for one. My wife and I love it and would certainly recommend 👍

"bowed door"

purchased a solidor through double glazing essex ltd. was bowed at top from day it was fitted, was told that the bow was within solidors tolerance, chrome on hinge was fading, rubber seal was damaged and no letter box fitted. my main concern was the bow in the door that only got worse, the fitting company returned many times to alter the lock plate to pull the door in when locked but this only made it harder to lock and unlock. the hinge and seal was replaced and i was given a letter box that i had to fit my-selfe the replacment hing has again tarnished. as a retired builder i new this door was only going to get worse the fitting company refused to replace the door so i took them to a small claims court and made an out of court settlement. if your not happy with the door you purchased then take the matter further my door cost a lot of money and i expected a high speck
product. solidor cannot say that your door wont bow and that this only happens on rare occasions.
