"I'd give them 0 stars if I could"

I'd give them 0 stars if I could. The knocker broke within a year. I'm sure this would be simple to fix except NOONE is helping me to sort it. The installer (Jon Wyatt) was very aggressive and refuses to engage in a conversation over my warranty or replacement. So I've contacted Solidor directly on a number of occasions via Instagram and they are now completely ignoring me. Very disappointing and I am no closet to getting it fixed. The whole principle behind a composit door is the long lifespan, but my door looks rubbish as the chunky knocker is missing. Terrible customer service and no help whatsoever. Ultimately it's your product that's faulty and your supplier that is not helping me. I have no idea where next to turn! I wish I'd done my research as by the looks of these reviews, the doors are not the "high quality" that had been sold to us. If you're looking for a new door DO NOT use Jon Wyatt or this company.

"No Quality Assurance at factory"

Prior to purchase of a £2k door I had seen some reports of Solidor doors warping/bowing. Asked salesman at Solidor biggest reseller who advised "they will only bow if installed by non authorised installers". Purchase door and on install its bowed. Raise case with the reseller and after weeks hear nothing after installer revisits and confirms its bowed.
Solidor then state that 5mm bow is acceptable on a £2k door.....we've got your money, tough.
My advice - go to a reputable reseller of a reputable door as there is no Quality Assurance at Solidor. Now ready for a winter of cold wind blowing in open seals.

"Had front and back doors fitted"

Had front and back doors fitted. The back door is the same as many others on here - bowed making it difficult to close and open. It won’t stay open at all and sits ajar - why would I want to buy a door that won’t sit in any position but closed. The closing of course is due to the bowing. When opening and closing the hinges click, it’s been adjusted a number of times. The small square window on the cottage style door has the adhesive/sealant exposed and the trim at the bottom keeps falling out. Extremely poor quality in fact disgusting and it has cost me over £1000. I would definitely not recommend. Had the guy back who fitted it a number of times (off Trust a Trade) and he was aware there had been problems with these doors bowing and had heard about the difficulty customers have rectifying the issues

"Bowed door and refused to help"

We had a Solidor front door fitted in August last year. The day it was installed, the installers pointed out that the door was bowed and that we should contact the supplier to get it replaced. The door was very hard to close and open without putting all your weight behind it. We immediately called the supplier who contacted Solidor. After numerous photos and emails over the course of a several weeks, we were told that it was tough luck and that the door was 'in tolerance'. Solidor refused to even come out and look at it and said it would correct itself over time if locked. One year on and we continue to have the same issue with the door sticking and not closing correctly without putting all your weight into it (you cant open without two hands). Considering the cost of the door, disappointed is an understatement.

"Had a Solidor fitted in April 2022 and…"

Had a Solidor fitted in April 2022 and within a month noticed white paint showing through the peacock blue my door was painted. Contacted fitters and they got onto their supplier who tried and tried to contact Solidor about my problem, eventually answered by sending tin of touch up paint to them!! Disgusted by there response to a new door that paints coming off . Do not buy from them.

"Expensive and badly made"

Probably one of the most expensive doors available and definitely NOT worth the money.
We had two Solidors fitted a Front Door which is very nice and a back door that had a bloody warp in it. We called back the fitting company (Who we have used for years and are absolutely superb) and they said they would ask for a new door (minus fittings etc.) Solidor in their wisdom told the fitters that they had not fitted it correctly, the fact that it was several millimetres out it true didn’t enter into the discussion. When the door was closed and locked, from the outside there was a huge gap and the edge of the frame fixing screws were just visible, Solidor said that this was within their acceptable specifications.
Our fitting company came back and worked hard to make the door fit, it’s still out of true but at least you can’t see daylight at the door jam.
Would I buy another Solidor? NOT BLOODY LIKELY!
Would I recommend Solidor? NOT A SNOWBALLS CHANCE IN HELL.
If you want a banana shaped door then go ahead and spend £1000+, I’m sure Solidor will oblige but if you want a door that actually fits and is true, buy any other brand than this.
UPDATE:
The disillusionment of our Solidoor back door continues, today I have noticed that the trim around the glass in our back door is coming off on the bottom left hand corner. I refuse to go back to the installer, it is not his fault, it is purely due to very poor manufacturing. Unfortunately I can't insert pictures to show the fault but suffice it say it is what I would expect from a door costing £200-£300 from a local Bodgit & Leggit not a door costing in excess of £1000. I repeat NEVER AGAIN.

UPDATE:
Solidor in their wisdom didn’t respond to my updated review of our back door where the moulding around the glass has begun to lift away. Referencing the door being fitted by one of their fitters has absolutely NO relevance to the moulding round a window, it’s just a VERY BADLY MADE £1000+ DOOR. They look great from a distance but close up reveals the poor manufacture. If you need a good quality door, I suggest you look elsewhere because Solidor will do there best to wriggle out of responsibility and blame someone else.

"Avoid - 10 year manufacturers warranty is a lie"

Total waste of money & customer service non existent. Had a solidor fitted a couple of years ago & in January 2022 discovered the door was leaking. During heavy periods of rain the hallway floor is soaked & water even coming in through the glass panels.

Been contacting the company who installed the door since January continuously & keep getting told they will send someone around & still nothing. Have tried contacting solidor for the last 7 months but all emails are ignored & phone lines non existent. The constant letting in of water for the last 7 months has now resulted in water damage to the skirting & floor & still the installer & solidor ignore the problem.

Time for legal action now as clearly their 10 year warranty means nothing.

"Waste of a fortune!"

For something that costs so much money, such a waste. Had my door replaced because it was ugly, and went out of my way to find one that I actually liked. Good job it came with a warranty! Within a couple of days of installing it, the lock broke so had to be replaced, new keys to all the people I’d already distributed keys to. Within 6wks, the glass cracked. It took nearly a year for it to be replaced, and even then they couldn’t replace with the glass design we originally had, so the door I have IS NOT the pretty door I ordered and spend so much money on. People can see into my hallway through it, which IS NOT what I paid for. We’ve since had to replace the seal at the bottom of the door, have the plinth at the bottom of the door that diverts water away re-stuck because it moved and prevented the door closing (so we had to leave a table in its way overnight for security), and also the “cartridge” replaced, which is the locking mechanism along the vertical edge of the door. So basically the hinges have worked as paid for, but apart from that it’s been a £1,700 nightmare, and very few of the original parts remain. Awful awful awful, would absolutely not recommend.

Edit: it’s now almost April (review left in July), and despite Solidor finally promising to remedy some of the problems in January, they now appear to have ghosted me and are ignoring my emails. Customer service at its best! Updating the review in the hope someone will actually come back to me, and also to confirm that despite the best intentions of their reply to it, nothing was actually done.

"First class service"

Having had our door installed last oct we enquired re obtaining touch up paint. Once Grace had ascertained which area we required the paint for it was sent out immediately with no fuss. Its so refreshing to receive first class customer service in this day and age. I cant thank Solidor enough.
