"Blemish on door"
I was doing some DIY and had a tiny blemish on my french grey door. The blemish needed a tiny touch up paint. Grace at solidor was super efficient and incredibly helpful and has reinforced that customer service is still important even in these trying times, thanks again Alan

We are really pleased with our Solidor front door and found their customer service brilliant when requesting a sample of colour to get a colour match paint made up for our garage door.

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"
Unfortunately I have had damage to my door from an attempted break in. They didn't get in.
Got on the phone to the good people at Solidor again, the bits I needed have been sent. Really easy to deal with and very helpful.
Solidor helped restore my faith in humanity after the shock of the event. Furthermore. I can relax knowing the door security stood up to the test and kept me and my family safe.

"Customer service above and beyond"
Originally having had a Solidor fitted over 8 years ago, the door has stood up extremely well to wear and tear, has provided security and the complete elimination of drafts.
I recently contacted Solidor to enquire about some new threshold seals which had become worn due to normal wear and tear over several years of reliable service. Within just a few days of my email to Grace within their marketing team, a full set of seals arrived and at no cost.
Thank you Grace\Solidor for such excellent customer service!

"Started well, not so good ,ended well."
In November 2016 we had a new Solidor door and all went well looked great and worked as it should. In July the bottom of the door had swollen out so it could not be used. I found the paperwork, it was fitted by a FENSA approved limited company and I also had the Solidor 10 year guarantee. The company who fitted it had ceased trading simply as the owner decided to retire so I rang Solidor. Not helpful! They told me to go through my supplier, I explained that he had retired and was no longer trading, they were no help at all. I contacted the owner of the company who said as a good will gesture he would sort it. Some 50 days after I rang Solidor I got a replacement, the delay caused by having to deal with a fitter, supplier and then the manufacturer who in fairness acted in a reasonably timely manner. Inspection of the old door showed it was rotten around the letter box area after just 3 years. Please bear in mind this door was fitted to a north facing entrance so neither got the sun or heavy rain.
Now the good bit Solidor ( Steve) has been in touch on several occasions and explained that the specific type of door I had occasionally had problems due to the manufacture process. These problems have now been resolved and I have been assured the new door will be OK. I have also been provided with the door reference in case of future problems as my fitter has retired. I have been assured that the customer service department have been briefed to deal with customers who find themselves not being able to contact the fitters as they have ceased trading. My new door 3 weeks down the line perfect.

"Doors should be flat and not bowed, right? - Avoid this company !!! !!!"
We were so excited to have our old weathered oak front door replaced with a new frame and one of these new composite doors. We chose a door made by Solidor, they came recommended and they had the exact light grey colour we wanted.
Both frame and door were fitted by a local company.
From the very first day we had difficulty in turning the latch to unlock the door - it would only turn so far and after several attempts, the latch would finally turn far enough for the locking mechanism down the side of the door to unlock.
All very embarrassing when there was a visitor stood out side waiting for us to simply open the door.
After a week I notice the cause of the problem, the door was bowed by about 4mm, which was putting too much pressure on the latch/lock.
Surely when you pay hundreds of £s for a new door, you'd expect it to be flat, right?
Apparently the Solidor solution is to pack out the perfectly square and true frame to compensate for the bowed door...... I mean seriously? Is it me?
Why on earth would anyone want to do that, surely it would be better to manufacture a flat door and store it in such a way that it doesn't bow??
It's a bit like buying a brand new car and after a few days someone points out that your front wheels are not aligned with your back wheels, making your new car 'crab' up the road. You take your new car to Ford / VW or whoever, and they tell you to get kwikfit to adjust the angle of your wheels..... "that'll fix it" !!! LOL
Utterly ridiculous and quite frankly not what you expect from a professional outfit.
If you make doors, make them flat !
Update:
I made contact with Solidor and eventually a service manager called me back. After a very long conversation he agreed to supply me with a replacement door but couldn't promise that it would be less bent than the one i currently have.???
He said he'd email me details of when i would be getting said door etc.
So, here i am 3 months later and i haven't heard a thing.... not a sausage.
My patience has run out now.
Please do yourself a favour and avoid this company at all cost unless you like the thought of having a bowed door and don't mind being lied to !!!
