"Total rubbish I would give zero stars…"
Total rubbish I would give zero stars if I could door leaf is bowed causing problems locking and unlocking the door, door frame is also bowed in two directions and not square. The door is white inside and out and north facing so not affected by the sun. Door was only fitted 12 months ago and is only fit for the skip, solid or just ignore any complaints from our installer

"We have had nothing but problems with…"
We have had nothing but problems with our very expensive door and now have another one. It started with the glass panels being made inside out, unbelievable but true. We then had replacements fitted and the frame around the glass was a different colour to the door. Two more attempts and we gave up and just ignored it. The the door handle broke, then the lock. Now, the composite cover has split and the door has swollen in a bottom corner. TBH I wish I had just bought a cheaper door. So fed up with it.

"Had a Solidor door fitted in August… yes an i came out and moved the striker plates so the door would shut properly and lock, You don’t cut the frame to make the door fit"
Had a Solidor door fitted in August 2020. Everything was fine for the first few weeks it closed smoothly all was good. Then we noticed the door had warped and it became increasingly difficult to lock to the point where it caused wrist pain trying to push the handle up, it was that hard. Having contacted Solidor - their response was “this is normal” it has got to the point now where the alarm on the door keeps going off as the gap is approx 5mm. They did come and try to correct the fault by cutting sections out of the frame to move the latch but the lock is still notchy and continuing to warp. Everyday getting worse. On the outside I can get a 6mm packer in the top corner, when the middle of the doors just touching the seal, so in time the seal will fail.
I would not recommend these doors at all. There response was it’s a natural product so I should put up with it. Obviously we’ll not leave it at this, it’s gone to Trading Standards this doors substandard.

"I needed a replacement weather bar"
I needed a replacement weather bar and after sending an email everything was sorted out quickly and very efficiently. I would happily recommend this company to anyone for both their products and their service

"No resolution to badly fitting door components"
Edited to add that following a further attempt to get someone from Solidor to contact us directly to discuss the issue and requesting they supply replacement GB cassettes that fit together properly, they have simply told our supplier there is not a problem and that is how the fitment works.
So it is designed with slots not aligned properly so that it distorts when clipped together? If this is the case then they have a serious design problem.
I should add the same Georgian bar cassette on the other side of the door fits fine. Perhaps that is the one that is faulty!
We recently purchased a Solidor with Georgian bar cassettes pre fitted over the glazed part of the door. The internal set of cassettes do fit correctly and the bars are distorted and bowed away from the glass. Despite explaining the problem via email many times, there had been no resolution or replacement parts provided by Solidor. They promised to call us but have not done so and it seems they have no intention doing anything about this.

"Excellent Service"
As a result of an accident I needed a replacement end cap for the bottom rail of the door. The response I received from Grace of the support team was virtually immediate. She could not have been more helpful.
Within 48 hours I had received a pair of replacements FOC. Problem solved and I am very satisfied.

"Your door wont look like the brochure - Confirmed by Supplier"
You cant rely on the door looking like the brochure or website configurator when it arrives and is installed. Very, very, disappointed. Mouldings will appear randomly on the door, not in the positions in the brochure or web site meaning the door will not look like what you expected when you ordered it.
Complaints were ignored and fobbed off. Looking round my estate this does not happen with any other door company.
I would not recommend this company and advise avoiding so not to be disappointed.
Comment on reply:
So, there you have it from the manufacturers own words....brochure is for illustrative purposes only... And from the customers own words confirming the door supplied doesn't look like the door in the brochure.
Simply avoid this manufacturer.

"So disappointing as such an amazing looking door!!!"
Update 8th Dec 2020
This afternoon I've spoken to Solidor who have been really helpful. It is clear that they are the manufacturer of the doors, and that numerous issues that have arisen are likely to be as a result of fitting, or a breakdown in communication between fitters, suppliers and manufacturers.
Solidor have promised to send an engineer to help identify the issues and how we might remedy the problems that we have experienced.
At this stage I am happy to provide a 5 star review for Solidor for their support and quick response. I hope that we manage to overcome all of the fitting issues in the next week or so.

So far only 2 stars I'm afraid. Spent almost £2k on a door that looks AMAZING but having to deal with TimberComposite doors for all of the problems which is slow and not addressing the issues. Taken 2 months so far. First payment taken on booking the fitting
First door had a 1.8m handle fitted so close to the lock that you trapped your hand when unlocking the door. The door bowed, plastic around the glass was loose, lock escutcheon rattles, internal handle moves, and chrome platting on the hinges came off. Door also had bowed top and bottom. The whole door moved and rattled when shut
Solidor provided a replacement door and new bar, and hinges but the fitters used all of the old parts from the first door, using double sided tape to hold the plastic glass trim down. They then too the second payment, and suggested that all further issues would need to be covered by the warranty. Hinges chrome platting started to come off within 12 hours.
Third visit to replace the hinges, and the plating starting coming off of them within minutes. Fitter said that there were parts missing from the escutcheon that caused it to rattle, and they needed replacing. When finishing the fitter noticed that the door had bowed and called his boss, suggesting that this happens quite a lot ... 10 days later TimberComposite doors emailed to say that solid wood doors all warp and bow in the cold and that 5mm movement was normal, and that you should double lock your door every time it was closed!!!!! This afternoon the door was sticking out by 10mmm (so out of tolerance), difficult to lock / unlock, and the whole door moves when shut.
No response on any of the faulty parts.
Really disappointing that it takes so long to correspond with the supplier ... almost £2k spent, 2 months of slow correspondence, and left with a second bowed door with sticky tape on it, that we struggle to unlock. Really not sure what TimberComposite doors are telling Solidor but something is going wrong, and Solidor are looking pretty poor.
I hope this all gets corrected .. my advice is to research who fits your door, and don't part with your money unless fully satisfied.
So disappointing as such an amazing looking door!!!

"A Word of Caution - Part 2"
I posted my review on Saturday 28 Nov. On Monday 30th Steve from Solidor rang me and explained at great length why the guarantee for the door rests with my supplier, not Solidor, which I still don’t understand. A lengthy frustrating email exchange with Solidor could have been averted if we had spoken earlier. However, having said that, Solidor has kindly offered to help, it’s not their responsibility, but they are going above and beyond what they have to do. My lock was replaced today, with a better product. I am extremely grateful for Steve’s help in resolving my problem.
Next time I purchase a product I will research the guarantee/warranty more carefully.

"I would not recommend."
I have received a Solidor made by TWS Plastics. The door is not the correct width and the design on the door is out of proportion. The trim on the inside is different to that on the outside. The lock is really stiff and the door started sagging after a few weeks. Customer service is non-existent. I would not recommend.
See below the response from Solidor that implies they are willing to help. They are not. I have been trying to get this matter resolved with them for MONTHS.
Sorry I have to respond here - as you can see below Solidor already have all the information they need in this case. They just refuse to accept that the door is not the width ordered. The door is only 80cm wide and 90cm was ordered. I have tried sending more information but the link does not work, I guess because I do not have a CLOUD #. The ONLY 'solution' offered by Solidor is to offer another door of the same size at half price. The problem is NOT just aesthetics, the door is the wrong size, so that solution does not really help.
